FBI agents in the United States probing relatives of Saudi-born terror suspect Osama Bin Laden before September 11 were told to back off soon after George W Bush became president, the BBC has reported.
The BBC's Newsnight current affairs programme on Tuesday said that Bush at one point had a number of connections with Saudi Arabia's prominent Bin Laden family.

It added there was a suspicion that the US strategic interest in Saudi Arabia, which has the world's biggest oil reserve, blunted its inquiries into individuals with suspected terrorist connections -- so long as the US was safe.

Newsnight reported it had seen secret documents from an FBI probe into the September 11 terror attacks that showed that at least two other US-based members of the Bin Laden family are suspected to have links with a possible terrorist organisation.

The programme said it had obtained evidence that the FBI was on the trail of Bin Laden family members living in United States before, as well as after, the terrorist attacks.

Newsnight said Bush made his first million 20 years ago with an oil company partly funded by the chief US representative of Salem Bin Laden, Osama's brother.

Bush also received fees as director of a subsidiary of Carlyle Corporation, a little-known private company which in just a few years since its founding has become one of America's biggest defence contractors, and his father, George Bush Sr, is also a paid advisor, the programme said.

The connection became embarrassing when it was revealed that the Bin Ladens held a stake in Carlyle, sold just after September 11, it added.

WASHINGTON – NewsMax.com has learned that active FBI Special Agent Robert Wright Jr. is about to blow the whistle on his superiors for hindering investigations that might have prevented the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11.

Wright complains that when he tried to continue and pursue certain terrorist investigations, he met with retaliation from his bosses and from the Justice Department, which made it clear that it wanted the probes to go no further.

Prior to putting off the news conference, Judicial Watch said that "based on the evidence, the FBI special agent believes that if certain investigations had been allowed to run their course, Osama bin Laden’s network might have been prevented from committing the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 innocents."

On March 13, 2002, George W. Bush said, "I don't care where binLaden is; I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." About that same time he ordered all government agencies involved in finding and capturing binLaden to cease and desist.

This should come as no big suprise. Shortly after he left the White House, George H.W. Bush and many of his cabinet members (including James Baker) joined an up-and-coming consultancy company called the Carlyle Group. Among investors in this new company were seveeral prominent families from Saudi Arabia, many of whom were personal friends of George H.W. Bush. One family by the name of binLaden invested $2.5 million in this new venture.

On September 11, 2001, the Carlyle Group was holding an investors' meeting in Washington, D.C. when the 'terrorist attacks' took place. While all other aircraft was grounded, private government jets flew these investors out of the country - secretly and without fanfare.

There is credible speculation that Osama binLaden's family arranged to bring him back into the United States where he has been living in the family's huge compound outside of Orlando, Florida ever since.

Today, two major government contractors - the Carlyle Group and Halliburton - both have direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House. Coincidence? Or something much more sinister? Would the lives of a few thousand innocent Americans 'bother' the oil-soaked, blood-stained conscience of the Bush dynasty - who had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein. Would the lives of 675,000 Iraqis and 3,800 U.S. soldiers 'bother' the oil-soaked, blood-stained soul of Dick Cheney - who has intense connections to the oil industry?? -RKO- 08/31/07

Jesse, Bin Laden's family is not under suspicion of anything, not then and not now. They regard him as the murderer he is, just like everyone else. And like everyone else they are welcome to visit or live in this country the same as you. Educate yourself instead of being ''fed''.
