I ask this because it is obvious cons and liberals have different ideas about how best to grow the economy.

Liberals believe that by shifting taxes to those who can better afford it (the rich) and creating laws and programs that help the little guy work his way up, you can create a larger more educated middle class and better growth.

Cons believe that cutting taxes (mostly for the rich) and deregulating leads to more growth. In fact, they believe social spending (such as education, job training, GI Bills, etc) leads to more poverty.

AND YET TIME AFTER TIME THEY ARE PROVEN WRONG, AND HAVE TO COME UP WITH EXPLANATIONS (EXCUSES) ON WHAT THEY SAID WAS GOING TO HAPPEN DIDN'T HAPPEN.

And congress should have only the right to fund them?

Isn't the reason we have a Democracy is so all that power isn't in the hands of one man?

Not saying we shouldn't have gone to war (I happen to know how grateful much of the populace is) but it seems to me he wants a bit too much power.

My opinion, whats yours?

When I was young men were in charge of everything. They really didn't listen to their women at all, which was a mistake. Things began to change in the 60s, some for the better and some for the worse. Women got paid equally in the job force, which was a good thing. Unfortunately though, women eventually began to take charge of everything, not so good. Women are so much better at relationships than I am ( another good thing) but not so good at thinking without the influence of the emotions. Men are much better at that. We pretty much balance each other out in a healthy relationship.
What America needs now are men who will stand up and be men. Thinking without the dominance of emotion.
Are you the man? Or will you just say "Yes Dear."

what would you do if you were under constant threat of suicide bombs killing you and your family. israel has never instigated a war. i admit the last conflict with lebanon was handled poorly but israel did everything in its power to limit civilian casualties. but i will say again, look at the history books israel has never stuck first and the Palestinians are constantly bombing israelis and people call israel the terrorists.

After giving us all those dramatic speeches, full of sound and fury, about how their strategy would win the war,---we now learn that most of their nominees plan to "stay the course", and do the same things Bush has been doing.
One wonders why they would choose to follow a man who they called "dummy" for the past 5 years. ---Are they dumber than the "dummy"?

Ashcroft was a tighty whitey kook who thought the statues in the Justice Department should have their private parts covered - but his replacement is far worse.

Alberto Gonzalez authored the infamous "quaint torture" memo, and even went so far as to try and pressure a hospitalized Ashcroft into approving what we now know was another secret intelligence gathering program so intolerable even Ashcroft wouldn't put his signature on it. Exactly what that program is - and what happened between the two is still unknown, and Gonzalez spent his day in front of congress today backpedaling and BS'ing to avoid all the questions he was asked.

It's clear this man is a liar - and this situation recalls the days leading up to the Watergate scandal.

Gonzalez needs to go - and his boss knows exactly why but isn't telling us the truth.

Since the USA is the greatest best most successul nation on earth ever, we have a moral obligation to share our success with the rest of the world...and I dont mean hands out, I mean to impose our system on them. The time is ripe for it...since we are the world's only super power right now...we should strike while the iron is hot and create a great "American Peace" by spreading ourselves all over the globe militarily and economically. Our culture should be all over ...a starbucks and mcdonalds in ever corner of the globe, and capitalism spreading like wild fire along with democracy compelled by our military.

It is our duty...and our destiny.....right?????

When Barack Obama responded to the question posed to him and Hillary Clinton, concerning meeting with leaders of Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, etc.

He said sure, within the first year he would make efforts to do so.

And Hillary Clinton said she would not meet PERSONALLY with any of them in her first year (if elected president).

Now the media is saying that Barack Obama erred in his answer, because of in-experience.

But what I think Barack Obama meant was simply this.

* He would make diplomatic efforts to meet with those leaders, via the usual diplomatic channels that are already in place at the State Department.

What EXACTLY is Your View On This matter?

The dems in the debate said that no taxes would be raised, just the tax breaks on the rich would be taken away.....how on earth will we pay for all the new social programs they advocate if there are no new taxes? Uiversal healthcare alone would need an enormous amount of money.......how is this possible....or is this not what they said?

The Agriculture Department sent $1.1 billion in farm payments to more than 170,000 dead people over seven years, congressional investigators said in a report released Monday by the Government Accountability Office. The findings come as the House of Representatives prepares to debate and pass farm legislation this week that would govern subsidies and the department's programs for the next five years.

GAO auditors reviewed payments from 1999 through 2005 in the report, which was requested by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. "It's unconscionable that the Department of Agriculture would think that a dead person was actively engaged in the business of farming," Grassley said.

The ones who stood for victory.
The tough ones.
The ones who loved their women but didn't let their feelings rule them.
The ones who understood how to handle an attack.

Have American men become so sissified that they have given away their manhood to the feelings of women?
