Nothing, really. I don't like the man. We've already had one Reagan. We sure as hell don't need another one.

He is one of those rare people that is not afraid to say that he is a Republican, and doesn't care what anyone on the opposing party thinks of him, unlike all these other currently elected 'Republicans' who seem to be leaning farther and farther to the left side of the aisle by the day. Also, he was the Senator of Tennessee a few years ago. Furthermore, all the United States of America's Constitution requires under Article II, Section I, is that, "...No person, except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of the President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of at least thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States." Other than that, all he has to do is get enough people to vote for him in the election. I hope this helps, and EVERYONE who reads this answer needs to familiarize themselves with their country's own Constitution. So, in answer to your question, there really are no overly challenging guidelines for anyone who wants to become President of the United States of America. He also isn't just an actor, as some other answerers have suggested. He has a good background in politics that would help him now. Also, he has higher ratings in the polls than most who are actually running for President. He hasn't even announced it yet, but word is, that he is renting an office building somewhere in Tennessee.

Look at his congressional record. He has served this country well for many years. He has far more experience than any of the Democratic contenders and most of the other Republican contenders. What makes an ex mayor from new york think he is qualified to run a nation. Probably the same thing that made a peanut farmer like Jimmy Carter think he was qualified. Intersting how he keeps popping up in politics. He was a one term president because he was useless, and now he spends all of his spare time criticizing other administrations in hopes of getting some air time. pathetic.

In 1987 he was the Director of the CIA during a tense murder mystery involving a US Naval Officer.
He was R.Adm of the USS Enterprise during a 1990 standoff with the Russian Navy. During this standoff he successfully delivered a CIA analyst to the USS Dallas and the United Stated was able to secure the defection of a revolutionary Russian ballistic submarine submarine with a silent propulsion system known as a "Caterpillar Drive".
He was also elected District Attorney of New York County in 2002.

His stint on all of the Law and Orders. If hosting Death Valley Days was good enough for reagan, then I guess Arthur Branch can transfer his authority from District Attorney to dealing with Russia, Iran, Iraq, the Middle East and all the problems we face at home into a 4 year program. Sorta like the series 24 but with a lousy actor acting as President.
Why he can have his script writers write scenarios for how the war in Iraq will turn out, and he can act the scenes out. Maybe if he's really convincing, he might pick him up an Emmy for best actor at fooling the American public yet again.

He doesn't need a resume. What qualifies him is in the Constitution. He has to meet those requirements, and people have to vote for him.

Personally I think you should be banned from running for president if you want the job. You ought to be drafted president and only have to meet a few IQ requirements and such.
