And which two parties would you choose to replace them?

I grew up at the end of the Cold War, but I saw some of the economic and social atrocities of the Soviet Empire. People were paying massive taxes and working with outdated, 50's-era machinery. People waiting in line for hours for basic amenities. And at the top, the military and political leaders lived high on the hog at the people's expense.

Now I see that people--more the political leaders in the Left Wing--are talking of bringing 'shared prosperity' to government by taking the profits of oil companies and other big money-makers and put it in the government's coffers...which is blatant socialism! So I'd like anyone out there to explain to me why you'd want to live in a society that crushes all independent thoughts and wants in favor of having the government make all the decisions for you while taxing you to hell in the process.

During the clinton scandal (for which bill clinton was ultimately disbarred and impeached), the liberals called for "respecting the president." Now that bush is having "scandals" shouldn't we still respect the presidency?

Isn't this the same point?

...which is below Bush's. How do the Democrats do such a spectacular job screwing up that they did in six months what Bush hasn't done in six years?

Was it failing to oppose amnesty for criminal aliens, failure to end the Iraq war, or Harry Reid's monomaniacal witch hunt against Administration officials?

and Global Warming....and the Iraqi War.....

Is it just the nature of the game, cons are always going to be behind on whats really going on.

Yes, there is a flipside, that libs can be too far ahead to actually address a current problem (but thats not what this question is about)

Thanks!

I regret to say this but I think he shouldn't have been because I already knew that he was mentally unfit as a person. He also tried to attack Iran 2 decades ago and USA supplied him with bombs. Somehow he was being used. And by used I mean he was US's toy. The pieces just don't fit. I also think that Bush was really pissed at the Al-Quida attacks so he took it out on Sadam by executing him. Do you actually believe that he thought Iraq was planning to bomb USA with Al-quida's help?

I also think it's because of oil that Bush creates so much wars.

It seems that everything on hear that I read that has to do with Republicans and Bush there is nothing but childish name calling and crude remarks. I understand not liking the party or the man but why not discuss it in a manner that has less hatred, instead of taking that approach on the issues.

I know us REAL conservatives can, but the neo-cons seem to have a comprehension problem. 90% of the violence in Iraq has NOTHING to do Al-qeada or any other terrorist group. It is the civil war between the Sunni sect and the Shia Sect of Islam. Yes, the act of violence they perpetrate against each other is sickening. Kind of like when America had our civil war. Both sides targeted civilian homes, railroads, and Sherman even burned the largest city in the south to the ground. Bush created a civil war, and our troops are dying on the sidelines because America will not choose sides. So please, can you at least try to differentiate between the 2? For America's sake?

Bush has violated the Constitution that he swore to up hold and that I fought for and many of my friends died for. He has tapped with warrant phones of American citizens. He has detained without probable cause those who are legally with in our borders. He lied to the country about the threat Iraq was. We wanted to impeach Nixon for far less.

If we pay them, don't they work for us? I mean, is it really UNFAIR to make them pay back some of those subsidies? Is it UNFAIR to regulate them, when we pay them? Is it UNFAIR to force them to put money into alternative energy? If so, why are we still paying them?

Why can't the Republican Party end the Iraq War?
a - The Evil George Bush won't let them.
b - They lack the will.
c - They lack the political skills to get it done.
d - They never intended to end the war (i.e., they lied).
e - They don't have the faintest idea how to go about it.
f - Some of the above (pls. list).
g - All of the above.
h - None of the above (pls. list why you think they haven't done it).

Is this a great question, or what?!? ;-))

This question is in response to Fast Eddie B's question. I thought it was rather hypocritical to criticize the Dems for something THE REPUBLICANS WHO STARTED THE WAR have yet to come up with a solution.
