and Global Warming....and the Iraqi War.....

Is it just the nature of the game, cons are always going to be behind on whats really going on.

Yes, there is a flipside, that libs can be too far ahead to actually address a current problem (but thats not what this question is about)

Thanks!

This applies across the board on the majority of issues.

Their simplistic fiscal policies may have worked during the time of the Roman Empire. They definitely cause nothing but long term problems in modern times.

They think that tax cuts are like magic slippers that will take everyone back to Kansas.

Well this is why the groups are called conservatives and progressives. Progressives are open to change while conservatives want to keep things constantly static.

5 years is pretty generous, because it seems like more than that on many issues. Liberals have been warning the country about global warming for decades, and many conservatives still think it's some massive hoax. Many conservatives also think that Saddam had WMDs and was behind the 9/11 attacks, thanks to FOX News. Nearly 30% of them still support Bush despite failure after failure of their president.

I'd say conservatives average being at least a decade behind progressives. It's just their nature to resist change.

It's the nature of the difference between the Democratic and Republican parties: Bottom-up, top-down. There are advantages and disadvantages to both organizational structures. Democrats experience a weakness of the bottom-up: ability to organize and information flow can be reduced. Still, that's nothing compared to the pitfalls in the top-down scenario. Loss of creativity is why Republicans have such bad ideas. Power in the hands of the few is why Republicans are easily purchased. The Democratic model is a superior control structure. It's weak points can be offset through technology.

It's the very nature of conservatism vs liberalism. Liberals rush out in new directions, conservatives hold thier ground. Really, good Cons are more like 20 or 40 years behind Libs.

I guess the real answer to your question is in the the result. Why are libs wrong on so many issues, because they jump to conclusions based on faulty information. Like global warming and the Iraq war. Check the polls lately? The Dems (Libs) are doing worse than the President.

Even if the country is taken over by hardline conservatives, I'll still be standing up to people like you. The mosque is covered under the 1st Amendment. GET IT?

Your best issues are Global Warming and the Iraqi War which congress supported!

Yea, you got a clue, which planet are you on. Oh, Mars, where they have recently discovered water,,, all those cars, and smoking must have caused that planet to globally warm also. Better get up there and sell Carbon credits, take the short bus!

Cons have always been backwards, and aeons behind Libs in terms of life. Remember how Galileo was mocked by the Cons because of his heliocentric theories? Yeah, it's true.

We're not, we still support the President, think global warming is a scam perpetrated by liberal chicken littles, and support the effort in Iraq. It won't change, so the phrase "5 years behind..." is confusing. I don't see that we have ever been "behind" the liberals, just intellectually superior.
