Bush is an idiot. I think the biggest reason why he hasnt changed his tune much, is because all he's got left going for himself and his legacy is the idea that he is " a man who stands by what he believes in, no matter what". I still believe that we should have never gone there and started a war, however, I dont think we can leave. Iraq is already in enough turmoil and conflict as it is, I dont see how we can leave the country in this state without asking for more trouble in the future.

Btw, why should i care about the troops? I never asked any of them to "fight for me". I didnt tell any of them to sign up for the army so they could a free college degree. I feel bad for anyone who joined the army only because they had no other options. I understand that these are men and women with lives and families apart from the war. But, they made a decision to join the military so, other than that, I dont care. Im not going to war, I dont support the war or any other war for that matter. Im sick of people trying to brand people as unpatriotic because they dont support the troops.

while being in iraq is a huge mistake, and not calling it off sooner was a big mistake, this is not the time to cut our losses and run. If we leave Iraq we would be setting it up to become another hotspot for terrorists. This is most likey the only thing I've ever agrred with Bush on. I don't believe his stance(which is basically "If we leave we'll look like pussy's") is right but I do still believe we need to find the quickest most efficient wat of getting Iraq under control. WE need to make the Iraqi government responsible. But if we don't see much progress within a few years we will be forced to get the hell out of there.

The correct answer is; because Iraq would fall into chaos with much blood shed on the short term. Long term it would become a terrorist state. Stop drinking the kool aid and see things for what they are. Don't pretend to care about our troops. I have family and friends their and I ain't buying into the left caring about troops.

Because we're in there for a reason. That reason is to protect us. Sure, let's get out of iraq, we got Saddam, that's all we need, right? Nooo, because don't you think there are more people in Iraq who are crazy and will bomb us or something just like 9/11 as soon as we act like wusses and get out of there... yes... pull out? nooo. WRONG. stay in. Right. RIGHT.

Because it's too late, we can never leave Iraq. I think it has to do less with oil then everyone thinks it does. I think it has more to do with the government doesn't want a nuc going off in DC.

He probably figures that losing a war would be political suicide (not that he's politically alive). Y'know, the same reason the Democrat constrolled Congress didn't de-fund the war, which'd be over next month had they done so.
