U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded al-Qaida has rebuilt its operating capability to a level not seen since just before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, The Associated Press has learned.

The conclusion suggests that the group that launched the most devastating terror attack on the United States has been able to rebuild despite nearly six years of bombings, war and other tactics aimed at crippling it.

Question is...
How can al-Qaida be stronger...
I thought "The Bushman" was killing
them all IN Iraq because Bushman
and the Republicans kept chanting...
Innocent Iraqi's must be killed so they
don't come to USA to kill our people...

How come Bush & the Republicans
let al-Qaida get stronger?

When a crack addict buys drugs is it really the drug dealers fault? Or does the user have some responsibility in what's going on? If you refuse to drive more efficient vehicle, refuse to commute, refuse to drive less, HOW IS THAT BIG OILS PROBLEM?!

Everybody loses, but Big Oil.
Conclusion: It is always in Big Oil's interests for prices to rise, and they can cause these increases by 'not having enough refinery capacity'. And they own these refineries.
Isn't something very rotten here?

This is what they said:

_______________________

In support of the people of Iraq, we the undersigned Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, state our opposition to the Iraq Oil Law.

We also oppose the decision of the United States government to require that the Iraq government pass the Oil Law as a condition of continued reconstruction aid in legislation passed on May 24, 2007...

***

The U.S. government should leave the matter of how Iraq will address the future of its oil system to the Iraqi people to be dealt with at a time when they are free from occupation and more able to engage in truly democratic decision-making.

It is immoral and illegal to use war and invasion as mechanisms for robbing a people of their vital natural resources.

I saw Chertoff on TV again today and a story about how easy it is to obtain the materials necessary to build such a bomb. They are still "unofficially" worried about these types of bombs being used on chidren because of a "long lifetime of pain and suffering" that will last throughout the childrens lives.

From Mexico...for simplicity of the question.
How much money does it take to come to America ?
How long does it take ?
What else if anything has to be done ?

The reason i'm posting this question, is because I constantly see people ranting about illegal immigrants...how much they hate them because they didn't use the "front door" of America. What I would like to know....how many of you actually understand what it takes to come through the front door. Do you think the front door of America is accessible to immigrants from poor countries seeking freedom ? Why or why not ?

It seems to me, people have an ill conceived notion that it's just a matter of filling out a couple forms at the US Embassy or border crossing.....

Let's get some good responses here...this is a serious question.

Bear in mind that many immigrants come from very poor areas...they live in mud huts, they do not have computers, they do not electricity, uneducated, they don't even have birth certificates

Terrorists kill people. That makes them terrorists. Also the fact that terrorist use terror to get what they want. What if those terrorist, from let's say Iraq, come to USA and create a health insurance company. And they intentionally deny insurance to 50 millions of American and at the same time they intentionally, fro the simple fact of making more profits, let's 18,000 of those insured Americans die by rejecting to give them the prescriptions that terrorists, now health insurance company owners, promised to give to Americans.

By doing that terrorists, pass from killing around or more of 1,000 American soldiers a year, to killing around 18,000 civilians and probably soldiers every year.

That is how insurance company work in here. Even Costa Rica, a poor country, has better insurance system than here.

Would you considerer terrorists those insurance companies' owners and CEOs? Why or why not?

As an AMERICAN, not a liberal or democrat or conservative, or neocon or republican, but as an AMERICAN, I believe the time for impeachment is NOW! I ask those who call themselves the latter of those names to take a long hard look at their party and their policies and ask themselves: Are these policies in the BEST Interests of the AMERICAN people? Are you and is the COUNTRY better off now than we were six years ago? Unfortunately, I don't believe you can count "safety" or "feeling safe," due to it's relativity and the possibility that it could change in a moment. I'm asking ALL Republicans to take a look within and answer these questions HONESTLY. I think you'll surprise yourself when you reach an answer. I ask Democrats to do the same thing for the sake of putting the Country before politics. And I ask both sides not to dismiss the other right off the bat as righty or lefty extremists, but to listen openly to one another. Don't just find fault, find REMEDY!
Truce?

I personally say yes, because the meaning has been lost since its inclusion.

Originally, the document did not have it. Upon its addition in 1954, it was meant as an addition to make sure that Americans were to be humbled, knowing they aren't the best, so that they wouldn't become as arrogant as they are today. Also, to seperate us from the atheist Soviets with which we were in the Cold War.

Other people believe that it is in it because God is specifically looking over the United States. (America is no more special than any other country)

There's a strong push for Bush and/or Cheney to get impeached right now. I would like someone to explain to me in simple terms why people want them to get impeached. I'm not looking for a debate. I've been out of the country for a while, and I only want to understand the reasons. Thanks for your help!

This seems to be a very broad word.

A terrorist is not an Iraqi who is sick of being occupied. If a foreign Nation landed in America and you saw 650,000 dead neighbors and family, wouldn't you fight back?

If a foreign force was drawing in real terrorists into where you live and you saw friends being blown up because of this foreign force being there, would you want them to leave?

A terrorist is not someone who reads the Koran instead of the bible.

A terrorist is not a Palestinian fighting for their land everytime Israel moves the border or builds a wall.

A terrorist is not a Muslim making their annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

I think we need to define what a terrorist is!

I think we need to realize that our presence in Iraq has drawn every real terrorist into that country make every one of our troops a human target. This Government knows that and that is why this war will never end.

We need to go directly after terrorists and not play referee in Iraq's civil war!

Yahoo news is bias to begin with, they love to trash Bush, etc. Finding a senator whose policy beliefs are different from the President does not automatically mean the President is wrong! Dissagreement is fine, its American. But to use that as proof Bush is wrong, is un-American. There have been lots of times throughout history where a majority of people believed a certain way and were proven wrong. A majority opinion doesn't mean that position is automatically right. As long as Bush is the President its ultimately his call. I know it hurts liberals, buts its the truth. Bush said it himself, your either with us or your with the terrorists. Ask yourself whose cause do you serve by pulling our troops out?
