I think it would be good we have the same type of surveillance in Ottawa, Canada. You can see the camera's in certain area's and some may not be so visible. I am on camera every day of my live I live blocks from the Hill and beside many Canada governmental buildings and many Consulates of the world.

Do you mean the one like Chikago has?
It will automatically locate the directional source of a gun-shot and film that location.
As an honest citizen you are denied ANY device, even pepper spray, to defend yourself in an attack, yet Chikago assumes NO liability when you are attacked by those they DON'T control.

Some cities are already doing it. So far, it's mostly cameras to snap your licence plate number so they can mail you a ticket!
