Yahoo news is bias to begin with, they love to trash Bush, etc. Finding a senator whose policy beliefs are different from the President does not automatically mean the President is wrong! Dissagreement is fine, its American. But to use that as proof Bush is wrong, is un-American. There have been lots of times throughout history where a majority of people believed a certain way and were proven wrong. A majority opinion doesn't mean that position is automatically right. As long as Bush is the President its ultimately his call. I know it hurts liberals, buts its the truth. Bush said it himself, your either with us or your with the terrorists. Ask yourself whose cause do you serve by pulling our troops out?

I agree with the statement by Senator Elizabeth Dole "Our troops are doing a great job but the Iraqi Government is not".

Senator Richard G Lugar (very well respected on foreign policy issues) of Indiana has departed from the Bush Iraq Policy. Are you referring to Olympia Snow of Maine? I have referenced the "yahoo news" article on Sen Snow below. Republicans like myself are sick and tired of seeing our troops sacrifice their lives in Iraq. We need to defend the USA and not meddle in the businesss of foreign nations.

President Bush needs to understand that we the American people who elected him are pissed off at how our troops are being wasted in Iraq. Their tours are being stretched out to the max and then beyond. (edit) I have also referenced an updated article from yahoo news. It may be the same one. Yes, the original story is gone and now only the updated version is available.
I think the updated story that the link will take you to now is even better because it clearly shows you how nervous the Republican Senators (who want to back the President on Iraq) are because (drum roll please...) THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE PISSED OFF!!! AND ARE SICK AND TIRED OF THIS ------- WAR!!!!! BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!!!!!!!

I am a Ron Paul Supporter.

edit: For those who do not know Sen Lugar and Sen Dole are Republicans as is Senator Snow.

The problem with that arguement is you infer that anyone who doesn't support THE MAN is a terrorist.

I have the utmost respect for the office of the president and the value of of the Constitution (READ it before you start talking about it) and have on three occasions taken Oath in front of witnesses to support and uphold the Constitution.

At NO point did I swear to uphold the poor decisions of someone who appears to value the needs of a small minority versus the lives and needs of the rest of the Citizens of this country.

People are dying. For what? Democracy? At what cost did our Democracy come? Are you willing to pay that price again for another country? Then sign up, request deployment to the Iraqi theatre, and let us know how it goes. Unless you want to fight the terrorists who attacked New York, then request Afghanistan.

I understand your question is about a Senator voting to his conscience, but you follow this with a statement about the validity of Questioning Bush. The basis of our Democracy is not just Freedom, but Responsibility. It's not questioning authority, it's demanding accountability.

I could list any number of quotes her, most of them patriotic as all heck, but that's unnecessary. You belive in our Country, I belive in our Country. The only one I think appropriate here is by Thomas Payne (if I remember correctly) "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Most republicans support our troops because 90% of them are from the homes of Democrats and independants....it's easy to support the troops when it isn't your kids in harms way. They don't care that our troops are being deployed back to Iraq or Afghanistan before they get a chance to catch their breath or get to know their families again...much less wash their socks! It just doesn't affect them.... My friends son is currently serving his second tour in the middle east. He got hurt in Afghanistan and now he is in Iraq. They extended his current tour almost as soon as he got over there...he is frequently "unavailable" and we don't know where he is. Never mind the fact that he has three sons under the age of 8 here in the US. Never mind that he has spent about 30 days of the last year & 1/2 with them in the same country much less the same city. He loves being in the Army....but why should he or anyone else be stuck in the middle east fighting a war we can't win under a President that lies and doesn't care.

It means he's one of a very few and still not enough to make one bit of difference but the liberal media blew it all out of shape as usual.
