He is busily engaged in a PR exercise at the moment trying to tell the public this is a different party than the one they elected for all sorts of reasons. He has promised to listen, yet we've already had the 'big conversation' and seen how we were ignored when signing downing street petitions objecting to road pricing.

He has outlined plans to 'force' local councils to 'listen' to petitions from local people but yet he has made it clear that no referendum will be held on the new constitution disguised as another 'treaty'.

It was the same when the North east voted against a regional assembly, they still have one.

The reason is simple these issues are already decided in Brussels/Strasbourg before anyone even in Westminster has input let alone the electorate.

We are not to be trusted with something as important as the future of our own country in case we express an independent view rather than vote for the political elite's propaganda led agenda.

The sell us out option is looking the stronger one at the mo.
The media are probably the only people who could force him to have a referendum and as I don't live in Britain I don't know which way they are bending.

Mr Brown has already ruled out any referenda on the EU Treaty. Change a few words here & there and it ceases to be the item about which we were promised a vote

Gordon Brown has said that there will no referendum. So much for their last manifesto. I hope they don't expect anyone to believe the next one!

The EC does not have a Constitution yet. Brown will of course sell out in the tradition of his party who do not care who rules the country as long as they can draw their parliamentary salaries allowances and pensions

As you're an expert, would you care to explain to me the ramifications of the new EU agreement, exactly what powers will be transferred from Westminster to Brussels and what the implications are for the ordinary Briton, in terms of his / her everyday life.

Because I don't know, I don't think you know, I don't think many people at all know.

So would a referendum be an informed decision, or just a popularity poll on whether we like Frogs, Krauts and Eyties?

(That's irony, not racism!)

Equally, I doubt if many MPs can answer the question, either.

All our legislators look to circulate 'community' whilst they get right into a place of skill and impression on the E U (was talked approximately as the EEC) makes you contemplate whether their bodies have been taken over by utilising some weird and wonderful cult

Probably have a referendum in Scotland but sell us english out - he only is interested in what his home countrymen have to say - not us.
He is going to be worse than B-liar, all this building of homes, bet they won't be near HIS homes or voters.
