This seems to be a very broad word.

A terrorist is not an Iraqi who is sick of being occupied. If a foreign Nation landed in America and you saw 650,000 dead neighbors and family, wouldn't you fight back?

If a foreign force was drawing in real terrorists into where you live and you saw friends being blown up because of this foreign force being there, would you want them to leave?

A terrorist is not someone who reads the Koran instead of the bible.

A terrorist is not a Palestinian fighting for their land everytime Israel moves the border or builds a wall.

A terrorist is not a Muslim making their annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

I think we need to define what a terrorist is!

I think we need to realize that our presence in Iraq has drawn every real terrorist into that country make every one of our troops a human target. This Government knows that and that is why this war will never end.

We need to go directly after terrorists and not play referee in Iraq's civil war!

you are right. I hate it when people call them terrorists, and they look at you like you are crazy when you make this point. like we are the good guys always, period. spreading freedom with guns, and they never even consider whether or not what we are doing is right.

"A terrorist is not an Iraqi who is sick of being occupied. If a foreign Nation landed in America and you saw 650,000 dead neighbors and family, wouldn't you fight back? "

And what do you say when the said person who, in your words, "fights back" and his primary victims are Iraqis?

I'm not sure if you have been watching the news (doesn't sound like you have) but it seems to me that the vast majority of victims of the so called "insurgents" are innocent Iraqis. You may also want to check into how many of these people are actually Iraqi.

The truth of the matter is that the only people who were unhappy with the removal of Sadam and his regime were Iraqi Baathists (i.e. those who were part of his regime) or Islamists who want to see their version of Islam ascendant.

"A terrorist is not a Palestinian fighting for their land everytime Israel moves the border or builds a wall."

Moves WHAT border between what and what?
And the purpose of the wall was in direct response to terrorist attacks. Its hard to attack innocent people if you can't easily get to the innocent people's location.
Ah, you disagree with the purpose of the wall? Fine. But don't use it to justify murder.

The reason the Palestinian terrorist is called a terrorist is because he or she belongs to a terrorist organization that engages in terrorist activities and/or engages in such activties themselves.
A terrorist activity would include the suicide bombings done by Hamas.
If Hamas is NOT a terrorist organization in your eyes, then tell us, what can they possibly do to CHANGE your mind in which you'd say "I thought they weren't before, but now I see I was mistaken"?

I think the distinction to be made is between terrorist and guerrilla. Guerrilla warfare is how people who are out-numbered, out-moneyed, and out-equipped by the other side must fight. You avoid direct combat, which you can't win, and instead, slip into camp, slit a few throats, and disappear into the woods. It can be successful. It's how the colonies defeated the British during the American Revolution (the father of guerrilla warfare is of course, Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox) and what the NVA did to the US in Viet Nam. I think the distinction between the two is when the violence spills over (deliberately) into civilian populations. When you do that, you're a terrorist.

If you read the fine print in the patriot act it is anyone the government says it is! This includes any people that disagree with the government. The current documents issued to law enforcement defining terrorists is a real eye opener.

Terrorists use violence and fear against innocent civilians to advance a political cause.

I call ETA and the IRA terrorist organizations.

Neither of those groups are Muslim, nor live in occupied land.

There is no definition of a terrorist. It is propaganda. All our enemies are terrorists even elected in free and fair elections (hammas). Media is counting on average (brainless) American to digest it without asking questions. Are we really always right that all our enemies are bad guys????
