U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded al-Qaida has rebuilt its operating capability to a level not seen since just before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, The Associated Press has learned.

The conclusion suggests that the group that launched the most devastating terror attack on the United States has been able to rebuild despite nearly six years of bombings, war and other tactics aimed at crippling it.

Question is...
How can al-Qaida be stronger...
I thought "The Bushman" was killing
them all IN Iraq because Bushman
and the Republicans kept chanting...
Innocent Iraqi's must be killed so they
don't come to USA to kill our people...

How come Bush & the Republicans
let al-Qaida get stronger?

WAIT! see there are things to consider. american govenment is great at doctoring figures. they do this by redefining things.

see, first they were unfortunate iraqi citizens. then they were insurgents, now they have been redifined as al qa'ida fighters. the reason there is so many al qa'ida memebers now is purely one of deifinition.

What can you expect? Resistance will grow stronger the more you attack.
There are millions of non-terrrorist Iraqis who are being terrorized by Bush and the gang, and he talks about a war against terrorism? Sept 11 will seem like a speck on the wall compared to what's coming next. Likely the massive destruction of the U.S. And we Canadian will get it too, even tho we are the innocent party.
Bush had no business invading Iraq. A special team could have located Saddam, why use an army of a million to find one guy?
Whoever says this Iraq Invasion has nothing to do with oil should be certified.

It's fairly simple, really. The War on Terror is like the War on Drugs. You attack one specific manifestation of a problem, instead of going after the driving forces behind it, and, you can't figure out why it keeps coming back. In the case of the War on Drugs, it's the very illegality of drugs in the US that fuels the cartels (if drugs were legal, they'd be cheaply produced and distributed and there'd be no proffit in smuggling them). In the case of the War on Terror, it's Islamism (politicised Islam) - particularly Wahabism, supported by the fortunes of US-ally, Saudi Arabia - that keeps Al Qaeda funded and gives it a cause to fight for.

Of course, the analogy isn't perfect. Drug runners just want money, while the objectives of Terrorists are ideaological. As long as they think terrorism will advance thier cause, organizations like Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, and so forth, will continue to use it. The only way to stop terrorism is to make it detrimental to the cause that uses it, instead. The way to do /that/, is not to fight the terrorists, themselves, but strike devestating blows against thier cause in response to each attack.

Again, the cause of Al Qaeda /is/ Islam: the creation of a glorious Islamist Caliphate uniting all mulsims...

I'm skeptical of the conclusion. But regardless, it points out the flaw in thinking that attacking Iraq would deal with Al Qaeda. The war on terror is global. It is not one driven by military efforts per se, but by intelligence, interdiction, black-bag ops, police/enforcement, financially strangling Al Qaeda.

The terrorists in Iraq would not be expected to come here. Others would do that.

Think about who you're siding with.

Think about who you're taunting.

We've chosen sides in WW III.

Have you?

al-Qaida is an organization. One of many terrorist groups. It is the focus of our news. None of the others has gotten hardly any press at all. Other are falling apart (Hamas, etc.)

Of course they are going to go for the big club. Of course al-Qaida is going to accept anyone they can.

At the same time, this report is a statement by anonymous sources about a classified report the contents of which are presently unknown except, maybe, if you believe them, by a traitor who has leaked the contents to the press.

That kind of scum is not who I put my trust in, thank you.

That you do, and continue to spread such things despite the fact that we are at war, speaks volumes.

hey, ben s, i think you should go buy more cowboy hats instead of wasting your time on Yahoo!... i'm in the Green Party, and think the war is wrong. i don't think it has anything to do with what party you're in or whether you're a "libby" (which, by the way, is an actual name.. i think you were meaning "liberal") or if you're a conservative. i think it has everything to do with ethics and morals.

you're heavily deluded in case you think of everybody easily needs to deliver human beings off to die at conflict. conflict is undesirable, and particular, we've our very own oil right here. there is adequate oil in a tiny little component of Canada to take care of the U. S. for a hundred years. no person needs terrorist assaults, no person needs conflict, no person needs human beings to die, yet from time to time it truly is mandatory. i won't have the ability to attend to take heed to what you should assert whilst the U. S. gets attacked back, i'm constructive you will chalk it as much as government conspiracy. ***EDIT*** those companies have been terrorizing something of the international for an particularly long term and proceed to realize this. united states of america of america isn't the only objective for his or her hatred. And why in the international would united states of america of america choose to be interior the Azzhole of the international? For our income? in spite of, we don't choose to be interior the middle-east yet we've been compelled to repsond and shield ourselves and that i pray to God that we are going to proceed to realize this usually going on. seem at what the united kingdom is going by using suitable now! i for my section refuse to be bullied and intimidated via those camel-jockeys, we've each and every want and suitable to seek for terrorists out anyplace they are and exterminate them. i'm so embarassed that such lots of of my fellow human beings are so prepared to offer as much as those animals just to be completed with "icky conflict".
