Just wondering? I have noticed that in the last few years Police cars got rid of the "Serve and Protect" from their vehicles and where I am from - their demeanor? Have Public employees forgotten who actually pays their salaries?

The psychologist Bruce Ekman, who has studied facial expressions and body language for most of his career, describes something called "duping delight." It's the pleasure you feel when you've pulled something over on someone. Does it seem that Gonzales's facial expression shows shows "duping delight"?

I'm no expert but was curious if anyone else had considered that the virtual anhiliation of the Native Americans had some eery similarities to Nazism.

I fail to see how the trail of tears is much different than a train ride in a cattle car to Auschwitz.

I fail to see how a gas chamber is much different than a knowingly pox infested blanket delivery or hail of bullets at women and children.

I don't want to invalidate the significance of either event. Just wish to draw some lines of conclusion.

Perhaps we should redefine the lines of propriety and redefine whom is a savage.

The income tax wasn't adopted until 1913 with the ratification of the 16th Amendment: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

Before that, the USA somehow managed to grow to be a world power.
What if the income tax were repealed and people got to actually keep ALL the money they earned. Would the economy collapse, anarchy reign, civilization be destroyed?
Or would things actually get better for most people, except the politicians who have become addicted to our money?

Take a minute and consider all the things that have changed in the last 100 years. How many of those changes were brought about by a relatively small number of people or even one person (crybaby) through the power of the courts and legislature, even though the majority of the public did not want any changes to be brought about. How many laws, court rulings etc. have there been that were in favor of the minority rather that the majority?

The man is pure comic gold! Here are some of my favourite recent "Bushisms":

"My relationship with this good man is where I've been focused, and that's where my concentration is. And I don't regret any other aspect of it. And so I—we filled a lot of space together."—on British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Washington, D.C., May 17, 2007

"The question is, who ought to make that decision? The Congress or the commanders? And as you know, my position is clear—I'm a commander guy."—Washington, D.C., May 2, 2007

"I'm a strong proponent of the restoration of the wetlands, for a lot of reasons. There's a practical reason, though, when it comes to hurricanes: The stronger the wetlands, the more likely the damage of the hurricane."—Discussing post-Katrina wetland improvements, New Orleans, March 1, 2007

Why dosen't America intervene and try to fix up that country like we did with Iraq and Vietname...nothing is going to stop the Mexicans from comming here illegally unless we either secure the border or fix up Mexico...I feel bad for these Mexicans.

Senator Biden (and several other candidates) are proposing the division of Iraq into a series of ethnic states (Sunni, Shia, Kurd, etc.) as a way to end the civil war, and start the peace process. The idea conflicts with the Bush concept of a single, unified Iraq, but it has the support of a number of our allies as an alternative to ongoing civil conflict.

I have a few ideas about it, but no real opinion. I am curious as to what you guys think.

I asked a question about the socialist in this country wanting take from those that work hard to give to those that won't.

Automatically, without question, I was....

1. A republican...sorry...not here...I am independent.
2. Was on welfare and that is how I got where I am...no...sorry...never took a government handout
3. A racist...yeah....tell that to my Mexican son
4. Conservative...yeah when it comes to my money...not so much with personal freedoms
5. "Had EVERYTHING handed to me"...not quite..going from being homeless to were I am now took a lot of work. Would have been easier to get a handout...but not my style thanks...

And the best one...

6. A white male...HA HA HA HA...one poster told me that I am where I am because I have never struggled like a woman...NO...I struggled like any other human when trying to get out of a pile of crap...and yes...I am a woman.

Hollywood “liberals”, journalists and other Leftists have long criticized “conservatives” for repeatedly suggesting that drugs, sex and violence in films, on television and in entertainment in general has an influence on the behaviour of children. Now as a Liberian I’m not sure I completely agree with that position but stick with me for a minute.

The Left responds that it is not only untrue, it is ultimately the parent’s responsibility anyway. But if the content of entertainment has no effect on children why is it necessary for Hollywood to first ban smoking from its films? It began with a policy of having smoking qualify as one justification for an “R” rating. Now they will take steps to remove smoking from all films regardless of rating.

I want to write a letter to the president of the US. I know the white house is in Washington DC I just need the street addess. I want to try to convince him into changing the drop out law. The amendment says no one should be discriminated against. Isn't it age discrimination when you have to do something you don't want to do just because of your age. I don't want to go to school and I have to be 18 to drop out. That's age discrimination because adults don't have to go it's just for kids because we're young. Do you think I'd be able to convince him to change the law?

They are all against school choice (vouchers). Most of the candidates sent their kids to private schools and had some excuse for sending them there. The point is that most people can't make excuses.
An excuse cant get you into a private school. Only money and freedom to choose a school can do that.

While House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi said that "impreachment is not on the table." Her justification at the time was that it would give Republicans a reason to rally around Bush and Cheney. Recently, as House Leader, she repeated that impeachment is not an option (see http://news.yahoo.com/s/thenation/20070731/cm_thenation/15218930 for details). Should the Democrats reverse this position and go for impeachment? Why or why not?

White Americans are the majority in this country. True Fact. Yet people believe that minorities are the majority of welfare users. Mathematically this is impossible. If you take the amount of Americans below the poverty line, white Americans are still the majority. Can someone address this belief? If America is not bias explain this. If white Americans are the majority, then why are more blacks by percentage locked up than blacks. Does this mean more minorities are criminals, Or are minority neighborhoods being policed (harvested) for criminals? I think that if the same presents was in the white community would would find the same amount of criminals lingering and roaming free. Can someone address the reason more minorities are locked up than the majority in this country?
