The closest to a label for that would be a "conservative Democrat".
The Democrats favor large government control of our economy and if they also want to enforce morality, they are likely Christian Conservatives, thus the "conservative Democrat".
Zell Miller and Jimmy Carter would be good examples of these.

I would define differently; A Conservative is Libertarian on economic issues and a Liberal is Libertarian on social issues.

And there is no liberal perspective that wants more govt intervention. The liberal economic model is laissez-faire, which opposes govt regulation. The opposite of fiscal conservative is fiscal socialist.
So, you have civil liberal versus civil conservative, and fiscal conservative versus socialist. Neo-cons are socialist conservatives. Democrats are socialists who try for a civil liberal model.
Libertarians are fiscal conservatives (low govt spending), economic liberals (low govt regulation of business) and civil liberals (low govt regulation of people).

Exactly how do we legislate morals? And who's morals do we legislate? If you want Christian morals, then what about "he who is without sin let him cast the first stone"? If it is Native American morals, then what? If it is Irish/English/Porto Rican morals? Who decides these things and then what if those are not your morals?
