Amercians have already voted in an actor, Ronald Reagan. Another actor, Fred Thompson, seems to be a serious contender for the Republican presidential nomination. Why draw the line there? Why not go all the way and vote for a porn actor or actress? He or she would be as qualified as any regular Hollywood actor. Discuss.

I asked a question about electing a Muslim president and got the response, "If we elect a Muslim president, we might as well hand over the country to the Muslims." I just want to see if the analogy holds for other religions.

It just seems that some of the discrimination/harrassment issues would go away if firefighters had the same regimen as police officers.

where was the govt at when all of these mortgage companies gave out high interest loans that shouldnt have been done in the first place? should the govt. help people who are going into foreclosure because of high interest? where are the over 1 million people in foreclosure going to find homes, whos credit will now be worse? isnt it the job of those mortgage companies to ensure that people are financially sound enough to handle the payments, now because of their bad judgement many families are left with no where to go? do you think the govt should step in and help those people? those people will now have lower credit scores than before and have a hard time finding any housing... what is the govt going to do about the increasing number of basically homeless people due to this problem?

Bush has continued on a "borrow and spend" path for several years now. I'm thinking maybe I don't need to worry about our debts and deficits. I'm almost 50 so I'll be gone before we really have to pay for it, but can someone who understands econ. better than me explain what could be the consequences if we just don't worry about our national debt?

Check this out. These 19 Arabs with little educational background and who were supposedly devout muslims (even though they frequented strip clubs and drank and smoked)sacrificed themselves in a suicide attack for Allah , by infiltrating the most advanced, technological and sophisticated defense and intelligence network in the entire world and all they used were box cutters! They flew planes into the world trade center and the Pentagon, and the guy who flew into the Pentagon executed this expert multi g-force turn that most fighter pilots couldn't make and he only had a few flying lessons! Can you believe that. Wow! where do they get this stuff from!? Some people must just think we will believe anything.

How would you feel if you were a terror suspect in your own country merely based on how you chose to dress (e.g. using a Muslim headscarf)? We, the Aussie Muslims, are scared to death that very soon we are going to be arrested and deported just for nothing...perhaps because we were vaguely related to some vague terror suspects. How would you feel if you were in my shoes?

do for your country. How is it that the Democrats have changed so much in such a short time? They now think that the country should do as much as possible and that people should do as little as possible. The Democrats as a party have totally lost all sense of personal responsibility. Can someone please tell me how such a change can happen and why.
