TMB123 you are such and idiot you cannot even comprehend writings. You adopt other people's children, no one was asking you about your own.

Waiting until marriage didn't help Lacy Peterson, Nicole Simspon or the WWF Benoit's wife. Divorce is neccessary because the men in our country have no morals. Kids without Dad's are often safer because they don't have to fend off a rapist every night, so get your facts straight.

I would never have a kid, nor ever have had a kid out of wedlock. but unless you are ALL VIRGINS you can't judge me. Have you ever had sex with a woman then left her the next day? All men have so you have no business judging me. This questions is about the American right to do what we want, so stick to the topic, idiots!

hoo---you are one stupid prick, if abortion was made mandatory, yes all women should be able to CHOOSE whether they could mandate an abortion on their own body. All pro-abortionists are pro-choice abortionists, not pro-mandate abortionists. Get the facts.

2007-07-28 01:57:02 · update #4

Please don't believe the many lies on here. 73% of Americans are pro-choice. The source that was sited is not even a legit source. The number of abortions that happen from rape are high. Women don't even have to tell if she has been raped, only her friends would know, so there can be no possible "statistics" on it to even know whether a woman has been raped or not, sheer stupidity on here!

NO! Pro-lifers would try to brainwash those innocent children with the same "values" they claim to have, not to mention their "logic." They should be kept as far away from children as possible.

Here are the statistics where people stand on this:

"About a third (35%) say abortion should be generally available, but 23% favor stricter limits on abortion and 31% favor making it illegal except in cases of rape, incest or to save a woman's life."

As expected, the answer isn't as clear-cut and black and white as we would prefer. I think this is a good thing because it demonstrates a depth of understanding in the average individual that transcends a one-dimensional perspective on a very complicated and sensitive issue.

While I am able to admit that my own biases may err towards life (or the potentiality thereof), I am immediately turned off when someone else attempts to dictate what is "right" for me, depending on my "political stance" on this issue... this goes for your idea of adoption, too.

Being "pro-life" or "pro-choice" is a political affiliation, not a human one. As such, I think it should be restricted to that realm and not integrated into our personal lives; if I do not know you, I will not attempt to lay claim to your mind or actions. Nor will I try to restrict your rights to do what is in your best interests. I am no one else's judge other than my own.

So why don't we take all these languishing children and put them before the firing squad I mean, hey what is the difference in the womb or out they are not wanted right?

The answer is take the responsibility BEFORE you have sex and conceive a child! Children don't just happen, the choice is yours, period. Oh now go on and get the crying towel out and run down the rabbit trail of "what if a woman is raped" ...Please... statistic on that are so low they practically don't exist!
Grow up and do what is right!

It is doubtful that abortion will ever be outlawed because society in general will always want to do as they please and then look for the quick fix...oh but lets not talk about long term effects.
When someone over a period of time stuffs their face and becomes obese they want to get their stomach stapled or intestines cut,,, no the issue is the food they have put in their mouth and their addiction to it. That is what needs to be dealt with. Same with unwanted pregnancies. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY and stop putting it off to society.

its not pro-choice its pro-abortion first of all. I am pro-choice in that you have a choice to keep your pants on. Unless ofcourse the woman was raped in whice case I offer that less that 1% of abortions are due to rape. I know we say we cant stop people from having sex and I wont be a hypocrite and act like I didnt have sex before I was married. I know that if a girl I was with had become pregnant I would have taken care of the child. I knew the consequences of sex as do everyone else having it. IF you dont want a child dont have sex if you do have sex be responsible and deal with it. You know its funny if someone kills an animal people are outraged but dont blink an eye if a baby is killed. What is our world coming to.

That's a logical fallacy. Pregnancy isn't caused by a lack of abortion clinics. A more logical question would be "If abortion is outlawed, will all pro-lifers volunteer for sterilization?" The answer will probably be "no", because pro-lifers tend to see child bearing as a blessing, rather than a nuisance.

interesting question... i would like to agree with the first person and tell them to put their money where their mouth is, but do we really want more kids brought up like those narrow minded people? particularly when there are plenty of infertile couples waiting to adopt. that said, i think its a woman's choice whether to have a baby or not. while i could never have an abortion, i would't condemn someone else for doing it. people should just mind their own business. particularly when their opinion is unwanted and outdated

No,we do not need more closed minded people in this world. These people would teach their children to be closed minded and hateful just like them.

They should be required to donate at least 10% of their income to the support of those children.

Then we can rear the children to be responsible open-minded adults.

As to the idiots who say "Do not spread your legs",
What about abuse?
If your father gets you pregnant should you just have the baby?
What about your brother,
Uncle?
Trusted Family Friend,
Preist?

What should you do when you are raped and find out you are pregnant. You were not having sex so you were not on birth control. So should you be forced to carry a child created from hatred and violence?

Worry about your own life and leave others alone. This is CLEARLY a religous decision and has no place in our Government

Butt out of others Lives!

Thank you common sense.

However, the people who vote that abortion should be illegal should be required to pay for the extra orphanages where the women can dump their unwanted babies as well as adopt those rape babies, kids of incest and my favourite... the ones with down sydrome. See how they deal with it.

Of course back street abortionists will get a hefty pay rise under the table.

Yes, they should put their money where their mouth is. Line up and adopt all of these children that would come into the world and placed for adoption IF abortion is outlawed. Wait a minute..... they aren't doing that NOW when there are children already languishing in the system. Bunch of hypocrites that they are.
The last known stats were from 2003 by the US govt where 523,000 children were in the fostercare system nationwide.

Edited to add:
Did you see where I said ALL prolifers ?? I am looking for it.... where oh where did I say all??? .... oh yeah all CHILDREN IN THE SYSTEM.
I speak from my prism of those that I personally know who spout abortions should be outlawed yet not one striking one of the 22 of them that I know have gotten up off their collective as*ses and adopted a child or even signed up to foster a child/children.

How about this?
If abortion is made mandatory, should all pro-abortionists be required to have one?
or
If abortion is outlawed, should all pro-abortionist females be required to not keep spreading their legs at the drop of a hat?
or
If drugs are outlawed, would all pro-dopers be compelled to abstain?

Do these sound like intelligent questions?
Guess what? YOU asked it!

Hey.....talk about intelligent.
Check out answer # 6.
The poster is saying that not wanting to abort children equals narrow minded.
