Sounds like you should post some links to prove your claim.

Ohio Minimum Wage Rates
(per hour) Premium Pay After
Designated Hours 8 hour day or 40 hour work-week
Daily Weekly: 40
State Law $6.85

I think you may be confusing your state minimum wage with the federal minimum wage, which is $5.85 until July 24th of 2008 when it will go up to 6.55 per hour.

Restaurants is about the only place that you would see a significant change in prices. The food service industry employs the vast majority of minimum wage earners. Most people who work at your local gas station, grocery store, or Wal-Mart make more than minimum wage and their wages likely will not decrease as a result of a decrease in minimum wage.

This also works for increases in the minimum wage. The food service industry is most affected; therefore, will have the most significant change in prices. Most other industries will have little or no change in the prices of their goods or services. Smaller businesses tend to be affected more than larger ones and will need to raise prices more to absorb the extra labor costs.

I am not sure why the minimum wage was decreased in Ohio (if it was in fact decreased). Economically, it really doesn't make too much sense to decrease the minimum wage unless it is putting an unnecessary hardship on businesses, which I don't think $6.85/hour would put an unnecessary hardship on most businesses.

The raising of the costs of goods/services is miniscule, and is a scare tactic that those opposing the minimum wage increase (mostly Conservatives) use in order to prevent it from happening.
