You might try redefining the word 'conservative', or even better, use the dictionary definition. Let's be real....the current GOP is run by people who are reactionaries, not conservatives. These folks aren't 'Eisenhower Republicans'...they're shills for the Oil Mafia, trans-national corporations, the 'defense industry' and the 'Jesus Freak' right. I'm sure there are some real 'conservatives' somewhere in the political population, but mostly they've been edited out and unheard. Find a set of canditdates that aren't anti-science, 'pro-life', touts for the 'healthcare' industry and who will end this war in Iraq. Get people who will secure our borders, deal with Terror Inc., admit that this country needs a national HEALTH INSURANCE plan. Get people that will scrap the current 'free trade' policies in favor of a fair trade policy that will return America's fair share of industry to the United States. The 'me too' reactionaries won't do any of these things...real conservatives might! Your mission, should you decide to accept it is to find some real conservatives to run for office. As always, should you or any of your I.M. force be caught or killed, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck, Jim! (This tape will self-destruct in five seconds.)

Vote early and vote often. No--seriously, get involved in local politics and meet and learn from the successful ones. You may decide or be encouraged to do more. You will certainly learn more about politics. I was knocking on doors for a mayoral candidate who was in the process of getting divorced. A lady answered a door and told me angrily, "If he can't keep his family together, how can he keep the city together?" I do not remember my response but my candidate lost by a huge margin.

As for any political party if you want others to vote the way you do then be the example of what you believe. This is known as walking your talk. Set the example. If others agree they will follow. I say this because you can't make anyone do anything. They have to like what they see and/or feel.

You can start, by volunteering with the candidate of your choice, canvassing polls, by knocking on doors with their literature, answering telephones, stuffing envelopes, putting up signs, and making a donation that you can afford.
If I have missed anything here, they will be able to fill you in on what their needs are.
