With the nosy busy bodies of the left and right always whining to the government about things that bother them, we are becoming more and more of a police state. The wars have taken their toll. The war on crime, the war on drugs, the war on guns, the war on drunk drivers, the war on cigarettes, the war on terror, and on and on. We have a government which is all to willing to go along with everything we demand as a method to control us. The police, prisons, and so called justice system is a huge industry in our country. The supreme court is deciding more and more that we don't really need liberty as much as we used to. And of course the biggest factor is that socialism cannot exist with freedom. Those that point thier fingers at the democrats or the republicans are falling for the biggest lie. Both parties hate individual freedom. And to compare ourselves to the rest of the enslaved world and say that we are the best is kind of sad.

I think we are well on our way to becoming a police state. The Constitution is being flushed down the toilet a piece at a time, and Congress doesn't seem all that inclined to do anything about that.

I think in the years to come it will end up like Germany in the 40s. To me with the power grab of this government and Homeland "Security" that's the way it is headed. Government is always after more power and very hard pressed to give it up once it gets it.
