We have the power in our respective countries to control government but the apathy allows these corporately dominated groups to attain power...we fear that we will lose if we don't follow the plan given us but in reality we lose more in the short and long term...and in the UK and the US and now Canada we lose the lives of our young and our best.

If so, are you ok to surrender your Constitutional rights and your Civil Liberties in exchange for what this Government has called security?

With the changes that they have made, do you feel more secure now, even though they are currently telling us that an al-Qaida cell or cells are on their way to America?

In the last 6 years, there has been many changes to the way the government functions and the executive branch in particular. Topics like the Patriot Act, writ of habeas corpus, executive orders, executive privilege, and signing statements have re-shaped the scope of the executive branch.

This question is not meant to start a debate on these topics, but raise a hypothetical question. If a Democrat wins the next presidential election, and the Democrats continue to control Congress and the House, do you want the executive branch to have the same powers as now? For example, would you support a Democratic President in a warrantless wiretapping program? Suspending habeas corpus for "enemy combatants"? Etc?

I ask this question to conservatives because they are more likely to support Bush on these topics, but anyone can answer. Or if you don't support them now, would you support them for a Democrat (for democrats)?

If not, then why don't they do a new investigation through an independent panel of experts and professional before all the evidense is gone or destroyed?

If it isn't an inside job, then what is there to be scared of.

The intel and reports are not of any top secret value. We already know these so-called terrorists made it through airport screening and hijacked planes with box cutters, so what is there to hide.

The Pentagon is the most secure building in America and must have hundreds of exterior and interior cams, so we should be able to look at the footage from the cams and see a plane hitting. We could also look at the tapes the Secret Service took from the Bank and the Quick Mart across the highway that would have caught the images of the plane coming in.

What I am saying is that there is so much evidense from that day that we could end this and find out the TRUTH once and for all.

Why don't we just have a new investigation so we can all move on?

This bill was first introduced in 2005, then referred to House subcommittee. Well, on May 9th, it was signed.

The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive, signed on May 9, 2007 declares that in the event of a “catastrophic event”, George W. Bush can become what is best described as "a dictator":

"The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government."

This directive, completely unnoticed by the media, and given no scrutiny by Congress, literally gives the White House unprecedented dictatorial power over the government and the country, bypassing the US Congress and obliterating the separation of powers. The directive also placed the Secretary of Homeland Security in charge of domestic “security”.

A new scientific study concludes that changes in the Sun's output cannot be causing modern-day climate change. It shows that for the last 20 years, the Sun's output has declined, yet temperatures on Earth have risen. It also shows that modern temperatures are not determined by the Sun's effect on cosmic rays, as has been claimed. I'm interested in hearing ways that we can help the environment in light of this evidence. Anyone have any suggestions?

I asked a question about whether to use a plastic or wood paint brush. The answers I got left me laughing. No intelligence just mimmicked rhetoric from the available propaganda. These "greenies" can't even decide between themsilves which is better to use without spouting some "green" prophecy instead of scientific facts. Kind of like the christians do.

Yes, it's National Nude Recreation Week. If you'd like a few suggestions on how to observe it, you might:

1) Visit your local Nudist Camp. Some offer free tours this week.
2) Go to a Nude Beach.
3) Have a No-Swimsuit Pool Party for your friends.
4) Hike into the woods, undress, and commune with nature.

Of course, you can also make your home clothing optional. It has the advantage of being both economical and ecological by reducing the need for air conditioning.

Experience the Freedom! (Remember, the Islamic Jihadists "hate us for our freedom"! By going naked-- something that would deeply horrify them-- you strike a blow against jihad!)

Average Americans that refuse to comply with a congressional subpoena (or any subpoena for that matter) will promptly be thrown in jail until they decide to cooperate. How can a president and his staff be held accountable to the rule of law if they refuse to go under oath or even on the record with testimony?

The Bush Administration's reckless contempt for the rule of law has broken new ground.

First Dick Cheney claimed he wasn't part of the executive branch. Now President Bush wiped away a prison sentence for his crony and convicted perjurer Scooter Libby.

Remember, Clinton perjured himself over sex in the oval office, Scooter perjured himself over things that deeply affected America.

For the past six years, Republicans have showed us no argument is too ridiculous and no action too reckless to avoid accountability. Despite Libby's conviction by a jury of his peers for lying to the FBI and obstructing justice, Dick Cheney called Scooter Libby "one of the most capable and talented individuals" he has ever known.

President Bush went even farther –by giving his friend Scooter Libby a 'get out of jail free card' for his crimes.

Congress is holding hearings this week to ask tough questions about the President's role and hold them accountable.

It's time to hold Bush-co accountable.

BEIJING, July 10 — China executed its former top food and drug regulator on Tuesday for taking bribes to approve untested medicine, as the Beijing leadership scrambled to show that it was serious about improving the safety of Chinese products.
.....
But Mr. Zheng’s case appears to have served a political purpose, allowing senior leaders to show that they have begun confronting the country’s poor product-safety record. Shoddy or dangerous goods, including drugs, pet food and car tires, have damaged its reputation abroad, especially in the United States.
