If the BNP are against the EU, then I will vote yes to staying in Europe in any referendum.

Hi Jill,

no...the British National Party is not the only party or political movement speaking for the British people. In fact, regarding the membership of the EU there are several independant groups trying to exert an influence on policy. The British National Party has other items on its agenda over and above the possible leaving of the EU, including a racial policy which does seem to go against the grain of most fair minded people and will result in the failure of the movement to gather momentum.

It is true that successive governments have continually voted to keep us in the EU (after all in the 1970's we did not vote on whether we wanted to be in...that had already been decided, but merely to vote on a very biased carefully worded-and government backed- idea that we would either succeed with Europe, or fail without it!)

Any party that would commit the government to leaving the EU and going back to being independent would gain massive support.

However, with hundreds of EU members of parliament, plus the majority of 'normal' MP's getting a vote each, it is no surprise they don't want to vote themselves out of a job, is it?

Financially the MP's have a great standard of living for being EMP's and they will never support us leaving.

The original aim of the EEC (eventually becoming the EU) was to merely allow members to trade freely with each other wothout market 'bans', restrictions and barriers...no-one would argue that wasn't a good idea, but now the EU is intent on forming a government, ruled by a president and having huge power. (An aim, incidentally, that Germany has tried twice to gain by force, and France has supplied weapons and arms and ammunition to other countries when they were at war with Britain. (The Falklands conflict, for example, when France was supplying scud missiles, etc., to Argentina)

Neither France nor Germany could gain control by conflict, so they are trying to gain control by the insidious mis-use of what was nothing more than a trade agreement. They should not succeed.

Unfortunately is has become obvious that Blair's government, now succeeded by Gordon Brown's, is intent on merely sounding tough, and has every intention of handing over rule of the United Kingdom to Brussels before they are next voted out of office.

Cheers,

BobSpain...a euro-sceptic, who voted aginst 'staying in' and who continues to argue against our inclusion. We just don't need it.

The BNP is not speaking for the British people, because the BNP are racist Nazis and the British people aren't.

If they speak for the British people, how come they could only attract 0.7% of the popular vote at the last General Election?

Don't pull out - We're just relocating to another EU country in the Med and we need the benefits of the EU agreement to survive (Love my country but just trying to balance out the UK population, with all the immigrants coming here!).

You seem to assume that we all want out of the eu, why? is this great country of ours all it,s cracked up to be? I have my doubts.
Time was when the haves used to convince the have nots how lucky they were to live in such a wonderful country, it doesn,t wash with many of us any more, mainly because we now know the truth via the media and maybe, as in my case having been lucky enough to visit these terrible places to work or on fleeting visits, that these other awful places aren,t as bad as the powers that be here would have us believe.
I have to laugh when on many occasions I have heard people putting forward the argument that those ,orrible people in europe would have us remove the qeens head from our currency, what a catastrophy! personally I couldn,t give a damn if her backside was on it, I,m more concerned about having enough of it to survive, she certainly has.

From time to time certain daily,s give a list of family shopping essentials for comparison between the different eu countries next time you see one give it a good looking at, every time I have looked at one it shows that we pay more for almost every item on the list than every other country. this after, in most cases paying more tax to start with than most of the others.

Take a closer look my friend, the French the Germans et al all enjoy longer anual hols. more statutory hols. and consequently more quality time with their loved ones, while our governments are busy fighting to keep us working unlimited over time to achieve what the rest consider a basic right in the 21st Century.

The aim of any government in this country of whatever persuasion is to treat the eu in the manner it,s early name implied (the common market), a market place,a place for the fat cats to wheel and deal, a trough for them to gorge themselves at.
Anything suggested that might benefit the working man or woman is non negotiable. What better example than the disgusting way we treat our O.A.Ps. even some who while grafting hard for a lifetime thought they were providing for their old age by contributing to a pension only to find out that it had been taken from them, people are doing time for less. On a kinder note though these unfortunate people have been given permission to work untill they are seventy or eighty, is that killing them with kindness or what?
Don,t tell me me we won the war, it seems to me like we won just a battle all the rest won the war.

It is dreadful that the party that stands for everything I hate is the only one that appears to stand up for this country> I still will not vote for them because it is an illusion

You might find it hard to believe but living standards in Europe are far better than in England. I don't think any of the countries would be sad to see the UK leaving!
