A Pentagon investigation will recommend that nine officers, including up to four generals, be held accountable for missteps in the aftermath of the friendly fire death of Army Ranger Pat Tillman in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department inspector general will cite a range of errors and inappropriate conduct as the military probed the former football star's death on the battlefront in 2004, said one defense official.

The official, who like the others requested anonymity because the Army has not publicly released the information, said it appears senior military leaders may have had all the facts but didn't care enough to get the facts of what happened on April 22, 2004, when Tillman was killed by members of his own platoon.

Dozens of soldiers — those immediately around Tillman at the scene of the shooting, his immediate superiors and high-ranking officers at a command post nearby — knew within minutes or hours it was a mistake. But Army needed to make Bush look good.

I'm 42 and shipping to BCT in the summer (July) - For those who have been there, I think that due to my age relative to that of most of the rest of the soldiers there, I'm likely to be an early choice for Platoon Guide.

Can anyone out there give me advice on how I can be a REALLY good Platoon Guide, if that occurs? I'd like to be prepared. I've SOME experience (ROTC Basic Camp 20 years ago where I did well as a Squad Leader and 1st Sergeant in Cadet roles), but I have NO idea how that will translate - Any and all suggestions are welcome - Thanks in advance!

After WWII, our servicemen had to go thru a lot of BS before they were able to come home. From overseas by troopship, then a train ride to somewhere, etc. it took awhile from hostilities to home.My dad , 6 months.

I hav a friend who was in "Nam. He was on patrol Tues, left for home, Wed. Was home Friday. He said he was walking down the street, heard a truck backfire, and hit the deck,

I have no idea what Korea was like.

My question,do you think this is too soon, perhaps a week or two to "unwind" before you get home.

How do you feel??Would it help?

I was medically discharged from the Navy with a 70% disability rating for schizoaffective disorder. I later filed for unemployability. It was accepted giving me a 100% disability rating. I'm afraid that someday they'll take it away or lower it. Will they?

I was really sick for a while. I was in a psych ward. I'm not as sick as I was then now that I've been on medication but I don't feel able to work. Thanks for your help.

Wouldn't your ability to learn and train be reduced if you are always tired? Giving you 4 hours of sleep a night, while under tons of stress, training hard, and trying to learn doesn't make much sense.
