There are only two reasons to go to war. 1. Your country is threatened with extinction, or 2. You are certain you are going to win and that winning will achieve some benefit to you. And the second reason is usually morally bankrupt, and often wrong (just ask Hitler...).
Nobody, not even Israel is threatened with extinction by Iran's bluff and bluster, and nobody has the guts and the means to go to war with sufficient force to win a war against Iran. The Iranians are a lot tougher than the Iraqis, and look at how 'easy' that job has been. Russia and China would support Iran and the west would cave in long before it came any where near achieving its aims.
You don't make a war if you know you are going to lose. The best chance for those boys is a bit of old fashioned diplomacy and horse trading. You'd wonder how they came to be captured in the first place and ought to be asking whose incompetence allowed that to happen.
I understand your frustration, but getting things done in the Middle East is down to building relationships, not making (more) enemies.

Don't talk such rubbish. what Iran did by arresting our Marines was done under the rules of war, and when you suggest it is a good enough reason to bomb them, have you really thought of the implications of doing such a thing. Do you think that Iran would not retaliate and the rest of the arab nations. If it came to a war how many more British troops would have to die. Do you not know that Iran can drop atomic bombs as well, and has one of the finest air forces in the world, and very well trained pilots.they have a bigger navy than britain as well. So, Think about it!!

You are right. Casus belli.
Iran's leaders have ambitions to form an Islamic caliphate in the region of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. That is why they are so aggressive and are developing nulear weapons.
The seizure of 15 British soldiers was a diversion from enrichment of uranium to buy more time for Iran's development of a nuclear weapon. In a further diversionary move, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad abruptly canceled his planned trip to New York to address the U.N. Security Council. The UN security council voted to impose expanded sanctions on Iran and gives them 60 more days to stop enriching uranium.
A strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis recently joined a similar force in the Persian Gulf led by the carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Furthermore, the French nuclear carrier Charles de Gaulle and its task force met up with the USS John C. Stennis last Wednesday.
U.S. and British officials said a boarding party from the frigate HMS Cornwall was seized about during a routine inspection of a merchant ship inside Iraqi territorial waters near the disputed Shatt al-Arab waterway.
The seizure of two Royal Navy inflatable boats took place just outside the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab waterway, a 125-mile channel dividing Iraq from Iran. Its name means Arab Coastline in Arabic, and Iranians call it Arvandrud - Persian for Arvand River. A 1975 treaty recognized the middle of the waterway as the border.
Iranians send arms to Iraqi extremists, including sophisticated roadside bombs. This week, two commanders of an Iraqi Shiite militia told The Associated Press in Baghdad that hundreds of Iraqi Shiites had crossed into Iran for training by the elite Quds force, a branch of Iran's Revolutionary Guard thought to have trained Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.

War with Iran is almost unavoidable but nobody will not start a war with Iran, until Iran test there very own nuclear weapon. Wants this happens, Israel is going to launch there undeclared nuclear weapons, (supplied by the USA) and destroy any suspected uranium enrichment factories. Lets face it, Iran has stated many times there desire for Israel to be destroyed, and make no mistake if Iran has nuclear weapons it wont be long until they use them

"90% of the cause of attacks" ?? the attacks are mainly done by ex baasists and al-qaida (both are enemies of iran). The pro-iranian mollahs (like Al-Sistani or al-Sadr) are in the government, ally of the US... The pro-iranian region in Afghanistan is also quiet. To bomb Iran will worsten badly the situation for our boys.

It has been for a long time now! I am here in Iraq for my second tour and I fully support taking them out. I also believe it has been planned for a while now. And not this administration either. The removal of Saddam from Iraq was authorized the first time in 1998 under Bill Clinton(see below). It was said then that our govt. believed the WMD threat from Iraq,A little research will also show all the flipflops from the house and senate leaders now in control (please see below again --this is for all you liberal believers).Keep in mind that these terms were used before Bush was in office.
Now the Iranians are and have been for many years causing trouble, I think it is time we deal with them so that my/your kids & grandkids dont have to deal with it.
That is this soldiers opinion!

i would be a bit on the wary side about attacking iran. they have a massive army and are a bit more motivated than the iraqis due to the fact they are a country of religious zealots. to really defeat them you would be looking at a nuclear situation and i do not think any of the leaders in the west would be crazy enough to unleash such a dispicable attack.

Although the government wants to bomb some nuclear facilities in Iran to stop the spread of nuclear weapons, I think it will be a great burden. The nation already has exhausted because of the war in Iraq. Certainly I don't want another!

war shld be prevented not encouraged.
"90% of the cause of attacks against our boys in iraq" What did our boys do? raping, killing, torturing THE INNOCENT?
"and have now seized 15 of our hero,s" wHAT WERE OUR 15 HEROS doing in Iran's Teritory? bird watching? most probably spying.
"i,d say thats a good enough reason to bomb them" Shame on you, how could you encourage another war? Such a Hypocrite.
We started the useless war, innocent people are being victimized, innocent are dieing, innocents are being targeted, some lost their father, some lost their mother, some lost their wife, some lost their children and some lost their full generation.
A useless war, a war for oil, Our soldiers are dieing without reason, whom to blame? Our soldiers too are humans, they too have feelings, they too have family, but what are they fighting for? they are being sent to iraq to guard oil locations, wht the heck is tht?
Open your mind, be wise, dont spread hate, we are all made of the same flesh and blood, we too laugh and we too cry....we all have heart.....NEVER ENCOURAGE WAR, WAR SHLD BE ENDED FOR GOOD TO KEEP OUR PLANET SAFE AND CLEAN....
May all living beings be free from harm and danger. May they be free from mentle sufferings, may they be free from physical sufferings, may they live happily and peacefully. Amien.
