For any branch of the military? I have heard from quite a few Marines that the hardest thing they did looking back was getting the courage to sign their names and swear in. What about you?

I enlisted in the US Navy in 1985...

The HARDEST part was keeping the Nuc-Power Detailer from shipping me off to Nuc-School !! He would call and beg and beg!! I had very high ASVAB scores, 3 years of college-physics, and had aced the Pre-Nuc test.

I WANTED to go AIRCREW... to ride P-3C Orions ! Because I grew up 3 miles outside the front gate of NAS Moffett Field.

I went thru Aircrew... and ooops, ended up in Helicopters because I could SWIM too well... and went to SAR School ! I rode in the back of SH-60B SeaHawks for 10 years before finishing my BA and getting a commission.

Never regret my Navy Service.
