They seemed to think that the British should leave Ireland and it should become 'one' again, so where they completly ambogious to the fact that the IRA where murduring terrorists that killed thousands of innocent civilains as opposed to British soldiers that might have been demmed 'acceptable'. Was it mainly from the support of some Irish-Americans and their funding to the IRA?

In the past we have been subjected to MKultra and Cointelpro operations without the knowledge of the congress. Today we are subjected to nonlethal weapons technology under the disguise of surveillance. Are you willing to support and take a stand for your rights and your families rights by writing to congress (Nancy Pelosi) and asking her to stop this practice? The testing of these weapons causes scars, marks and burns on people's bodies. Recently the Secretary of the AF wanted to use these weapons for testing on crowd control. Does this mean that if you are protesting that you could be subjected to these weapons? These weapons can cause contact lenses to melt to your eyeballs and pacemakers to stop working. Go to the AF website and read about these so called non lethal weapons that have the potential to cause serious bodily harm. Look up MKultra and see what has taken place before you discount anything.

I see that the U.S. military no long has the capability to fight the war without paying mercenaries for aids. Obviously, this is not a good characteristic of a country, especially for a dominant country like the U.S. Would this ultimately hurt the U.S. in a long run? Have we lost our ways of fighting with our own power? Yes, we have power to pay, but the meaning of the help is not the same. I'm not trying to criticize or siding, but I would like to know what people think about this issue. One thing you might want to know is that these are not the same mercenaries that you might be thinking of. They usually provide training and back up aids that do not require much of physical combats. But this means that they are the main key of operating attacks and defences in Iraq.

Scanning about on google earth, and I've noticed that about 2 miles north of the Grom Lake / Area 51 Airbase Test Centre there's an area blotted out by green dots.

The leading story on the BBC news website today is that housing for members of our armed forces should be improved. I beg to differ. I think it would be irresponsible to give the gun toting scum anything have decent as they'd only destroy it themselves anyway. This we know, because at some stage the property pictured was obviously brand new. What happened to it? Well if we look at pictures from Baghdad we can see how they behave there so why wouldn't they do the same at home. Discuss.

I want to join at 17, because that's when I'm done with high school, but do they let 17 year old kids into the Navy? I have tried to find this info, but it doesn't seem to say on any of the websites I've been to. Thanks and God Bless!!

Should he decide if he wants to go fight or not? Should he be branded a traitor. What do all you veterans think. I'm referring to 1st. Lt. Ehren Watada stance on refusing to go to Iraq.

Black pte johnson beharry recieved a VC for driving the lead armoured vehicle away from the combat zone in which hsi and other vehicles were being attacked.
The many events in history where this medal was awarded ,showed courage above and beyond the call of duty, where ones persoanl safety was disregarded for the sake of ones comrades or in the destruction of the target.

I fail to see the connection here.Of course the media would report this with slant favouring the medal recipient, but as individuals we have the right to question the wisdom.
The actions of the soldier, although respect for maintaining a level head were in no way deserving of the VC.
Clearly, the establishment was concerned with bad news and falling morale in iraq and dwindling of public support at home. Thus "all wars need a hero".Especially if in troubled times, especially if that hero is of ethnic minority.
This method is nothing new ,but I am concerned with the cheapening of all the VCs awarded in genuine cases.

I am taking a group of inner city Catholic 7th and 8th graders to DC for the Right to Life March. I got a letter from the Army yesterday saying we are scheduled for a wreath laying. There are no real guidelines, and I haven't been to DC since 1976.

The wreath can be natural or permanent, no size minimum or maximum. My propblem is we are on a very tight budget, we have been raising the money, because just MEAL money for some of these families will be a stretch. So I am going to ask some veterans from our parishes to sponsor the wreath for us, but I don't know 'how much' we should be spending, because I have never seen the ceremony.

Any help???

Thanks!

First Lt. Ehren Watada, a 28-year-old Hawaii native, is the first commissioned officer in the U.S. to publicly refuse deployment to Iraq. He announced last June his decision not to deploy on the grounds the war is illegal.

i'd encourage you to read the full article before you make a decision either way. regardless of how you feel, he does make some good points. i'd paste it here but it's kind of long.
