Do you speak French?
Here are some websites. Two are in English, the third in French. They do a background check now. You can enlist under a "declared identity" though, and regularize your situation after an interval. They'll be curious about your OTH.
Good luck with your path toward the légion étrangère.

I looked at your other questions as far as getting only part way through training and government contractors. So I assume you got an OTH part way through training. thiough I could be wrong.
The Legion is pickier about who they take than before. Desertion is it's biggest problem and the conditions are harsh. Who do you think joins? Then you will have to eventually learn French and if you couldn't follow basic discipline in the Marines how do you think it would be in France? As an american?
Government contractors what skills and training...... which you don't have. Plus they too will wonder what makes you feel that you can follow discipline with them. The marines give you a few chances before they kick you out and they know that.
You might....... check out something called Blackwater. They are the biggest contractor and provide training, which you have to pay for and then you might be able to do something. But be advised do not say "looking to get into the action" anywhere. It denotes immaturity, recklessness & hard-core private.
I've been in the military over 20 years. I seem to remember something about being able to change an OTH somehow as long as it wasn't drugs or something but don't quote me on it. They are trying to recruit most anyone these days and you may be able to appeal with a lot of butt kissing and phone calls. A letter to a congressman saying you are truly sorry and just want to serve your country. Everyone makes mistakes. It's just that yours will follow you for life so anything is worth a shot. Good luck.

There are persons in the two communities that are extremely hard. i could say the customary French distant places Legionnaire is extra perplexing than the customary Marine nonetheless. the practise they bypass by way of is organic torture and that they arn't co-ed. A Marine in 2007 isn't extremely the comparable factor as a Marine in 1965. each and every of the yank military have been negatively impacted via political correctness and emasculation. This has no longer befell to the distant places Legion. they don't have time for that $hit.

Hi! i'm french and know a lot about the FFL...
If you want to be a legionnaire you have to buy a plane ticket to come to the foreign legion recruitment office in paris...
They do not care if you were a military or not but being a former military is a good thing for you as it will get easier for you during basic training and it will be well seen by the officers.
To get into basic training where you will get legionnaire ready and learn French(so no need to know it before they'll teach it to you, they have a very good teaching method and after basic training you will speak almost fluently...with your little accent of course), You need to get through the recruitment test...You have to know that only 1 on 8 applicants will become legionnaire, so please train to get fit enough for the test....
http://www.legion-recrute.com/en/ this the official website of FFL recruitment in English where you will find even more informations.
My last advice...Please get fit enough!! It is not like it the marines where they train you to get fit, you have to be fit before coming, if not a fitter guy will be chosen...
Good luck and i hope to see you soon in paris for the annual and traditional military march on July 14th....

If you couldn't behave in the Marines, the Legion would kill you.
