Military - June 2006

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Military

I was honorably discharged December of last year after 12 years of faithful service, I CHOSE to seperate because i no longer wanted to be apart of such a corrupt organization. Yes, this nation needs a military, but the current military setup is in need of a major overhauling. How do I express this to young adults to avoid them making a huge mistake? And by the way....before any of you go off...i fully support our ENLISTED men and women currently serviing...just not the people making the decisions...of course I'm sure some of you will still find something to go off on me about for asking this just to give your life meaning! Thanks for answering!

The best and fastest way for Islamics to get the US military out of their areas is to simply STOP BLOWING THINGS UP AND STOP ATTACKING COALITION FORCES. After 30-45 days of absolutely no hostile action, Islamic clerics could call for immediate withdrawl of all US forces and in less than 90 days, 90% of US forces would be back home. Do you agree or disagree?

I heard somewhere that the F-14, F-15, F-16 and F-18's have never been shot down in air-to-air combat, even after engaging hundreds of enemy planes. Is this true?

So now al- Jazeera television is saying the U.S. broke the Geneva War Convention by "showing" the dead face of al Zarqwai on television... wait a second... this is the same al- Jazeera station that aired taped beheadings and executions of NON-MILITARY personell, executions either carried out by and/ or ordered by this piece of trash. Hmmmmm...
By the way, what do you suppose the Geneva War Convention states about flying a fully loaded passenger plane into a building filled, again, with NONMILITARY personell?
What is going on here...

Now that Abu Musab Zarqawi is history, are we likely to see another single figure rise to power in his place ?

Most leaders when they die are replaced by their deputy.

i dont see why people are blaming troops for innocent ppl killed, its harsh over there and its hard to see whos bad and whos good, if they make a sudden movement i would shoot them, im not goin to find out if they have a weapon or a bomb, so if innocent civilains have to die to keep our troops safe, then let it be that way

I would like for them to know that the American people are already tired of the illegal war in Iraq and let them know if they keep up their hard work the people in the USA will demand for the troops to come home. All they have to do is look at the history of Korea and Vietnam and they can see we will not endure. In fact we will cut and run. Stay tuned and watch the USA military cut and run from Iraq. It's coming soon.

have they said anything about the iraqi army, my brother said most of them are useless, he said they will run away or even turn against the troops and start shooting at them, he saw that happen before, but he said some were actually trying to do better for their country, God blees our troops and thank you for serving

Zarqawi now more powerfull!

As a resistance leader he was cunning and fearsome, as a martyr he will now be greater and more powerfull than he was before.

I can't believe anybody thinks his death will end the fight for freedom in Iraq. New leaders will rise and take his place. Look at Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh died long beofre the US lost that war. Hamas lost two leaders in less than a month and yet won the elections in Palestine.

One day the US may even kill Bin Laden. Yes, there will be much American celebration then, but would the fighting end?

Be real, this is a momentary set back, if that. The resistance in Iraq is actually gaining strength and will triumph there like other resistance movements triumphed in Lebanon, Vietnam, Somailia, etc.

I just returned from a funeral in Arlington Cemetery. I wish that every Liberal I know would attend a military funeral, especially one in Arlington. I saw row after row of tombstones, marking the grave of an American serviceman. These men KNEW that freedom is simply not free. That is not a clever catch-phrase. It is reality. Thank God for these men who died to give ALL of us the continued PRIVILEDGE to say what we want , when we want to.
