There was a Sylvester Stallone movie from 1981 called "Victory". It was about a group of POW's that get a soccor game against the Germans, but really do it as an escape plan.

"From Here to Eternity" revolves around a unit in Pearl Harbor in the last days before the Japanese attacked. They're made up of a group of boxers that the captain hand picked for his boxing team.
It doesn't so much focus on the boxing itself as the main character refuses to do what the captian wants him to. It's a good film, though.

League of Their Own...about the women's professional baseball league that took the place of the men's league in WWII. Good flick...starring Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell, Gena Davis, Jon Lovitz, and Gary Marshall.
