The Geneva convention doesnt apply to terrorist groups, unfortunately. While we have to play by the rules, they dont. All they showed was his face anyway, which isnt illegal. Of course, al Jazeera is just trying to get new recruits for the insurgency. It would be a real shame if a Tomahawk missle "accidently" hit al Jazeera's headquarters building.

By the way, what do you suppose the Geneva War Convention states about flying a fully loaded passenger plane into a building filled, again, with NONMILITARY personell?
What is going on here... - I don't think that has anything to do with Al Jazeera but I think you make a good point about the aired beheadings but now i wonder do they really air that or is it just proof of captured hostage videos they air?

The USA didn't break the Geneva Convention as al Zarqwai isn't a military combatant i.e. a soldier.
Showing such scenes on tv isn't against the Geneva Convention as tv stations are not subject to it, but military soldiers are as that is their code of conduct in war.
However, terrorists, freedom-fighters, civilians, whatever you want to call them are not covered by the Geneva Convention - it only affects military soldiers.

You're expecting a terrorist organization to follow the Geneva Convention? LOL. P.S. Al Jazeera broadcasts propaganda in favor of their country, just like the U.S. news.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too.
Get out of Geneva convention, if it does not suit the USA military's style of functioning (and maybe develop a new convention, the Washington convention, and sign that one instead)
But if you sign the Geneva, then try to follow it. Period. No use pointing to those guys, and what they did. They NEVER SIGNED THE GENEVA CONVENTION, did they? But you did.

The bombings of WW2 predate the Geneva Convention. You can't violate a convention that doesn't exist.
I haven't seen any death photos, and while they might seem tasteless (assuming they exist), Zarqawi was a ember of a terrorist organization, not an army. Therefore, he was a civilian.

al-jazeera is a promoter of the religious jihad. their broadcast centers should be bombed. they confuse things just like our own crappy press does.
On network today said that zarkawi's family placed newspaper articles, after the bombings on the hotels in aman jordan, and disowned him forever. Another network showed the family celebrating his life and said he was an imam forever, and a great soldier for god.
Please, if you guys believe any of the crap that anybody in the press says, then you need to have your heads looked at.
Screw al-jazeera, zarkawie, bin-laden and all the rest of those mohammeds, nuke em all!!!!!! quit screwing around!!!!!! nuke em!!!!!!!!

Reminds me of the pirates response regarding their code in the movie Pirates of Carribean, "they're just guidelines". We violated the conventions by the aerial bombardment of civilians in Dresden, Hiroshima and other cities, by the strict letter, they violated the conventions, but oh well, we're at war and they're currently facing our wrath.....

Just for EFW - the bombings of cities during WWII did not violate any of the rules of war that were 'in force' at the time.
