My friend recently got a ticket when I was in the car. The speed limited was 55 but he had his cruise control set on 60. However the cop said that she clocked him in at 72. On the ticket she wrote down that he was going 70. Although he was still speeding...that extra 10mph could be the difference in a large amount of money for a 17 year old hischooler with a minimum wage job. Another this is...As she allowed us to go she said "you need to follow the speed limit, slow down about 8mph." I believe that shows that he couldnt have possible been going more than 63. I believe he could have a case about how the cop was unable to provide accurate evidence. But, I have heard rumors that in Ohio anyone under the age of 18 is not given a chance to explain or say anything oter than "yes" or "no" in their court hearing. Is there any possible way for him being 17 to get out of this? (also if it helps...the cop used a radar to clock him in)

My 20 year old brother was drinking last night(apparently a lot) with his friends in Santa Cruz california. Today he drove home (about a 2 to 3 hour drive home) He was almost home and got puuled over for speeding. He was aressted for a DUI. He breathed a BAC of .14 at 3:45 p.m. I think he's screwed. ANyone have any advice that would help ANd what he might expect to be facing. He also wants to be a fireman but is now afraid that he is screwed because of this. He didn't think that he was still drunk because he drank last night. He just thought he was hungover.
He is really a good kid and hasn't been in trouble before and wouldn't have driven if he knew that he would blow any BAC number

I know a person who may have to register as a sex offender even though he has not committed any crime. I mean, I know this person and what they think he may have done is just absolutely outrageous. So now I am curious what the criteria for federal or state govenrment is when they want to prosecute in this type of situation? Does anyone know anything?

Please give details on all political tiers. Senators vs. Generals vs. Mayors vs. Sheriffs vs. Counsulmen vs. Alderman vs. who knows... Skip the jurisdiction. I know a Military man can't tell a Mayor what to do but he may be able to say something to a State Representative (or not). That is just an example. Don't dweel on that one. Thanks.

I had been driving my car at night and was a bit drunk(stupid, stupid) When I saw blue lights flashing so I pulled over. Even stupider I turned off my car and rolled up the windows(paranoid) When the cop came to the window and knocked I turned on the dome light and stupidly opened a brand new bottle of vodka in front of him and started drinking. I then opened the window and apologized. The cop, looked at me for a second and asked me to call my wife to pick me up. After my wife came to pick me up while the cop was holding my keys the cop told my wife that he would have arrested me if he didn't see me take a drink from the bottle? Why is this???

My GF has a warrant filed against her by another person for alleged "Assault and Battery to a child". It was really a means of discipline that got blown all out of per portion. My GF has never been in trouble with the law. Any helpful answers are appreciated. What will the process be once I take her to turn herself in? How long will it take? Will she be treated like a criminal before she is even found gilty/not guilty? What are the chances of her being able to sign herself out? If bond is set by the magistrate around how much will it be for this type of charge? We are located in Virginia

First of all i may have been going a little too fast. I was traveling in the far left lane. There was a line of traffic about 5 cars long, the trooper leading the pack then me behind him. Now I said I may have been going too fast because the light behind my speedometer was out. But i have a good idea on my speed based off the tachometer. So the trooper speeds up, and i try to maintain my speed. He slows down a bit and falls back. He goes into the right lane w/o his signal, brakes, gets behind me in that right lane, and turns on his blue lights. I pull over and wait until he comes out. The first thing he says to me is "how much weed have you been smoking?" I say "Sir I dont smoke marijuana." My clothes did smell like smoke from staying at my mothers house. But anyway he asked me why he pulled me over. I knew nothing was wrong with my car mechanically so I asked "Was I speeding?." He replied with a smart *** coment.-continued

Getting down to the nitty-gritty. If a PFC on duty comes across a Deputy Sheriff with no specific duties in the area, who has the say so? That is just an example. If a Major in the USN is walking around in a State Trooper's turf, who has the say so? Forget about the ranks. Does the men and women of the Armed Forces have any ranking power over town, city or communities? Can my Mayor tell a visiting General what to do in our town? If so, a Colnel?, A Major? A Captain? and so on..?

Like for going 10 moiles per hour over the speed limit,

isn't there like murders to be solved, home burgleries to be solved,

Drug houses to be shut down, But no they only have time to write you a stupid speeding ticket
