i recieved a call from a local police department asking if i was interested in a job, i said yes and then informed the caller that i had recentley moved out of westchester county and now live in new jersey, will they still be able to hire me, or will they allow me to move back in?

If the department has a residency requirement, they will inform you of it, and they should give you a period of time by which you have to comply. Many departments are doing away with residency requirements though, so maybe they don't even have one. \

At the police department where I work, we have a residency requirement, and new hires are given 90 days following the hire date to move into our city.

Yes, I haven't seen one department that denies you for that. All you need to make sure of is moving back into that county, when they hire you. What you can say is you dont live in that area anymore and are still interested. They most likely will speed up the processes for you would get most of the activities you need to do in a trip over one weekened like, polygraph, police test, interviews by captain and higher, and pt test.

most departments prefer you dont live more than a 30 minute drive away from the dept
