Are they like the old west Bounty Hunters or are they a necessary portion of law enforcement? No, I'm not talking about Duane Chapman but real Bounty Hunters. Chapman doesn't treat his fugitives the same as when the camera is turned off. Should the law limit their powers more than they do?

This question is for true crime scene investigators - not fans of the CBS show. I know that it takes a lot longer time to process evidence and crime scene than the TV show indicates. I have done research on actual crime scenes before.

Has there ever been a real instance as discribed above?

If so, in what case and was it a piece of physical or trace evidence?

Is there information available to the public about the case?

Thank you to any and all responses!

Lets just say someone has an arrest warrant for stealing. They were supposed to spend 6 days in jail, but never did. That was almost 2 years ago. What is going to happen if they turn themselves in or the police find them? Are they going to jail for even longer?

It happened exactly today during a direct TV interview of a chairwoman of the Lithuanian parliamentary Comission against Drug-addiction. She said that police and other officers do not act in one famous Vilnius place because they are afraid of international human rights organisations, because these defend not the rights of potential victims of drug-addiction, but drug sellers.

Recently journalists investigate continuing terrible criminal situation with drug-selling in the Roma (Gypsy) district of the Vilnius city. It was started with famous BBC jounalist Nicholas Jones: he was arrested by police and released only with help of Lithuanian colleagues and a lawyer in the evening 29 August, but drug sellers were not touched. Participants of Alfa reality show (LNK TV station) continue series of articles.

What is most strange for me, that according to this Chairwoman of the Commission, demolitions of Roma homes is positive and effective solution of drug-selling, e.g. in Kaliningrad now.

While living on the UT campus in Knoxville, The people under me where having a party, the cops came, and the turned it down. Next door, a kid with blue hair (skater) had a small radio in his window, the cops made a big deal out of it, and when he smarted off, I heard them say take him to 12th st. (I was on my pourch in the shadows and they could not see me) I thought they ment a paddy wagon. The next night, I awoke to the street full of cops. The kid had gotton a gun, and him and 3 friends had been drinking all night, playing his little radio loud and he was waiting for the cops. He accedently shot himself in the head. The other said he was beat up the night before by the cops and was gonna get them. On the news it said he accused them, but, no police record was made of him being arrested that night. I have kept quite about this, but now I wonder, should I say something? It has weighed on me for so long. And I am not a cop hater, I respect them, well most of them.

If the suspect is arrested in flight in a 3rd state, is the suspect returned to the state of the first crime? If the 1st crime was murder, and the 2nd was vehicular homicide, would this make a difference?

I was driving down Arrowhead Dr. in Carson City coming to the intersection with 395 anticipating a right hand turn. I had my wallet on lap and as I came to the intersection the light turned red as I came up to it. With my initial braking all the contents of my wallet fell to my feet, and as it did I reacted poorly and let off on the brake before I made the complete stop. At that point I was partially into my turn. Realizing what I did I made another attempt at stopping. However, it was a quick “stop&go” because I was partially into my turn and I was anticipating the northbound traffic would begin forward motion anytime. Luckily, there was NO disruption to the oncoming traffic by my car because I was going northbound before they started up. I apologize for being distracted and will be more diligent now. I teach my students at ***** Middle School an introduction to driver’s safety unit each year and am usually well aware of the dangers of distractions. I’ll have my wallet in my back pocket from now on.
