say you were planning on getting married to someone and before you could do it you got arrested and there was an order of protection put between the two of you.... is it illegal to get married until the order is up????

Why in the hell would you want to do such a thing? Apparently, there is something horribly wrong to begin with. Run and don't look back!

FYI - it does not matter if you are married or not. You can have a valid order of protection even if you are married. The court will make someone move out. This is true.

if there was an order of protection put between the two of you, that means that you should not even be thinking about marrying that person.

ok, first if there was a reason for a order of protection, don't get married, it will only happen again.

But you will have to go to court and ask for the order to be lifted even before he can come near you.

Yes it's a violation of the protection order. you have to go to court to get it lifted.

Well if that people who the order of protection was made for could go to the court and ask it be dismissed and then you are able to do as you please.
