While living on the UT campus in Knoxville, The people under me where having a party, the cops came, and the turned it down. Next door, a kid with blue hair (skater) had a small radio in his window, the cops made a big deal out of it, and when he smarted off, I heard them say take him to 12th st. (I was on my pourch in the shadows and they could not see me) I thought they ment a paddy wagon. The next night, I awoke to the street full of cops. The kid had gotton a gun, and him and 3 friends had been drinking all night, playing his little radio loud and he was waiting for the cops. He accedently shot himself in the head. The other said he was beat up the night before by the cops and was gonna get them. On the news it said he accused them, but, no police record was made of him being arrested that night. I have kept quite about this, but now I wonder, should I say something? It has weighed on me for so long. And I am not a cop hater, I respect them, well most of them.

So you think a cop killed him and claimed it was an accident. Don't know anything you can do without ending up like him. Talk to someone you trust to hear you out and keep quiet. It's a tough thing to go through.

Do you have any idea what they were talking about when they said "12th St"? How long ago was this?
It sounds like this kid had serious problems to begin with. First off it sounds like he was a punk. Who smarts off to a cop? All he had to do was turn down the music and that would have been the end of it. Secondly, assuming he was actually roughed up. Who gets a gun and then turns the radio up as bait to ambush a cop? It probably would not have even been the same cops as the night before. Lastly, how stupid do you have to be to shoot yourself in the head by accident. Guns are actually simple devices. If you pull the trigger, a bullet will come out of the hole very, very fast. Not exactly rocket science. It sounds like this kid did the world a favor.
You have to settle your own conscience however. If you think that telling someone what you know will somehow make a difference then I would call.

Your whole question is based on ifs and buts and you don't know for sure one way or another, could there have been drugs involved?
As for accidently shooting himself thats also a pretty long bow to draw
