I live in birmingham and have been arrested before for shoplifting and assault. This happened three years ago and i recieved a warning and then a reprimand. I went out clubbing with a mate and got into another fight the girls weren't terminally injured they just had cuts, bruises and scratches. All soliciors are saying this is very serious. I am a hghly educated young girl with good job and good appearance. I am truly sorry and have expressed this to judge. I 'm scared about what is going to happen because i do not want to lose my job. How long would i get? Also my co-defendant has claimed to be mentally ill whichi she is abit can they send down one without the other?

I got put in hand cuffs tonight!! Panama City's finest being stupid. Like I'd be stupid enough to speed with a cop behind me. The dumb **** pulls me over (I was going 35 in a 35, I'd just turned off 11th onto my road a very twisty turny road you can't possibly speed on) and flips his lights. He tells me to step out and handcuffs me. I ask why and he says for a stolen tag. I told him I'd just bought the car four days ago and the dealership was transfering the tag. He say's we'll see then proceeds to search my car. He pulls out the insurance card and registration transfer and says I guess you weren't lying. Then walks back to his car (leaving me handcuffed) and writes me a ticket for 10 over. Comes back uncuffs me has me sign it and says have a nice night.
Anybody else have a harassment story? Any suggestions for getting the ticket tossed?

I'm American but I am under police surveillance here, in the Middle East- because I was caught with a small piece of hash cannibas (marijuana). I have been released for now, but they can call me at any time, and I want to make sure it's not in my body. I have completely stopped. I don't think they use the hair thing because they aren't that advanced + I'm practically bald:p. Advice pleaseee...

I have a stupid felony because of a shoplifting charge in the 1990s when I stole a leather jacket from Saks 5th Avenue. My lawyer screwed me. Long story. Anyway. If I got mugged and shot someone in self defense, would I be treated as a suspect or a witness against the muggers? What would the gun charge be?

I recently read a woman paid an undercover cop posing as an assassin 400 US dollars to kill a woman whose picture was posted in her boyfriend's MySpace. The woman who paid the cop promised him 100 US dollars more after the job had been done.

So, in the following fictional scenario, is there a crime committed?:

If John Doe were to beat a man up that presented himself as an assassin but happened to be an undercover cop. Would John Doe be protected from prosecution because he figured he would single-handedly take to justice an assassin and to do so he would have to beat him up?

I do not endorse violence towards honest cops, law abiding citizens and animals. I am against the death penalty.

I was mugged several times over a decade. Most of the time I never reported it. I live in San Francisco. After a mugging last year, I called the police. In a frank conversation, off the record, they told me if they were me they would carry a gun. As a law abiding citizen, I would be charged with the gun but in this liberal city where thugs get only a slap on the wrist there would probably be no jail time. I mean, if the police are telling me this, then maybe I should consider carrying a gun. I had my jaw broken on Christmas Day in 1999 by a radical black gang simply because I was white, just walking down the street minding my own business. Now my face is disfigured. I'm tired of the punks getting away with everything. Bless the DA who is trying to give manditory jail time for firearm possession in this city. The problem is the thugs come over from the East Bay where they know they will get State Prison time and they do their dirty work over here where nothing will happen.

I work at this fast food store(the one with the W), as a cashier taking orders from customers and because of my good English skills(I'm an inmigrant) I was promoted to the drive thru call center of the company, everything went well for a couple of weeks, I had no complaints(all of those would be documented). Then one day they added a new store for the call center to take it's drive thru orders, and for what I think were technical problems(everything it's done through internet phones); because of the first day we were operating for that store, customers "supposedly" could't understand my words through the speaker, but the co-owner of the franchise was complaing that he wanted all operators to speak "English"(I did spoke clear English to every customer) so he wanted me to leave right at that moment, his reaction felt so wrong and discriminatory, also there was always someone on the other end of the phone interfering with the call(maybe him), and to finish I never got my salary raised.

This veteran probation officer wishes to place to place the juvenile in a state juvenile prison whereas the judge wishes the juv. to be
placed in an alternative setting. At a hearing a month ago, the judge told the p.o. to look for placement at an alternative setting--however did not write this in the order. Last week --at the following
hearing the judge again asked for placement & put it in the order.
Upon leaving the hearing, the p.o. announced to the mother of the juvenile, the attorney for the juv. & the juv. doctor that he/she was
still asking for the juv to go "upstate" (the juv prison) when he/she
would be speaking before a board who decided funding for the
juvenile @an alternative setting. "What about what the judge?!"
the attorney asked incredulously. "I am asking for commitment,"
the p.o. responded. "What about the judge?!" I am recommending
commitment," the po boldly reiterated. May the p.o. deliberately do this? This is a veteran p.o.?
