No it didn't just come from the Rodeny King Incident, It also came from the now defunct Bunco squad that handled prositution busts, drugs and other crimes of this manner. We are all human and even officers are still human, but make some job changing mistakes, and because they are one of the Largest forces in the country when they do something wrong it makes the news headlines. Chicago., New York and other Large metropolitan agencies have screwed up just as badly as LAPD has, Look at Dallas PD, they have royaly screwed up, but now have a New Chief that is cleaning house and getting rid of the trash. Know you facts before you say that just one incident makes the agency carry a bad rap. LAPD has really good force, there are bad apples at any police agency period..as the person before me said, Why does it always end up being a Race issue. If you don't screw up, then you gots no problem. If you screw up, be repsectful, and you do get treated with dignity even when you have a bad day and feel like it is frickin pouring on you and you alone. If you decide to show ur A*s then well bad for you, because they are trained to use non-lethal means to subdue you and bring you down, plain and simple just stay out of trouble

The "bad" reputation is given to them by scumbags and other lawless filth as well as all of the liberal idiots who don't like the police because they think all they do is go out there and harass and f--k with people of color.
Bottom line is this...if you don't break the law, you pull over when they light your azz up, and you are respectful I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NEVER...EVER have a problem with LAPD or any other police agency in this country. Understand morons?????? Or do I need to break it down for you further???

Ask ex-officer Rafael Perez of the LAPD and his fellow cohorts why their reputation is so tarnished. There's plenty of newspaper articles in the LA Times as well as court transcripts about the illegal actions and behavior approximately 5 years ago committed by dozens of LA's finest. You'll find it interesting reading and it'll make you wonder about their motto, "To protect and serve".

Just read some of the transcripts from the OJ trial - and the video you have as an example in your question - and the ongoing corruption and racial tensions being exposed constantly within the department - and.....oh, well, I think you get the picture.

Rodney King deserved a beating, just as anyone else that runs from the police and causes danger and risk to the public.
The bad reputation comes from Scum bags, because law abiding people have no fear of the Police.

It comes from the same place everything else does.
Be careful what you think because thoughts become words
Be careful what you say because words become deeds.
Be careful what you do because deeds become character flaws.
