My job is accusing me of something, but they won't say what. They claim they have "evidence" against me that they won't divulge until they take me to court. But I haven't done anything wrong. What should I do?

My 17 year old neice got arrested at Marshall Field's for retail theft, but she never left the store, nor did she conceal anything. The cashier rang the item up and put it in the bag. I thought it was only retail theft when you actually left out the store. Am I wrong?

My daughter's biological dad and his girlfriend are harrassing us. She has been adopted by my husband and her biological father signed an agreement stating he would not bother any of us until after her eighteenth birthday, but he's not cooperating with that agreement. I called the police department to make a complaint against the daily onslaught of phone calls, e-mails, and instant messages from them. I have changed my number, email address, and IM name several times but they always come up with it somehow. The police department says that because they live in another state there is nothing that can be done about it- this doesn't sound right to me. Is it true?

Do you think the "war on drugs" is just an excuse to target blacks and other minorities? Think about it.... this so called war hasn't stopped anybody from using drugs, (people are going to get hight regardless), but it has incarcerated alot people and thats about it.

My friend was arrested for attempting to steal anhydrous ammonia to manufacture crystal meth. She's sitting in jail right now and has a hearing on the 11th. The charges are Class 3 felonly. What most likely will be her sentence? Jail time? Drug Treatment and probation?

She's never been in trouble before, but in the past 4 months she got herself addicted to heroin and crystal meth and now hangs around a pretty rough bunch. Her family and I are wondering what are the chances of her going to prison/jail for any length of time?

Why do the (British) Police use different styles of truncheons/batons for different situations ? E.g normal patrol officers seem to use the extendable batons, transport cops have the large (nightstick) side handled ones, support cops have flick staffs, riot police have long thin cane -type batons. Why is is this ? Do police in other countries have different types ?
