My daughter's biological dad and his girlfriend are harrassing us. She has been adopted by my husband and her biological father signed an agreement stating he would not bother any of us until after her eighteenth birthday, but he's not cooperating with that agreement. I called the police department to make a complaint against the daily onslaught of phone calls, e-mails, and instant messages from them. I have changed my number, email address, and IM name several times but they always come up with it somehow. The police department says that because they live in another state there is nothing that can be done about it- this doesn't sound right to me. Is it true?

Did you call your police dept. or the police where he lives? The problem is that your police cannot really investigate the claims because of the distance.

I would contact his local police and see what they can get done. If that doesnt help you might have to seek something federally.

orders of proetion are enforceable in any state..... the secret is that he must be served with it. once you circulate to kin courtroom, he has to circulate too, if he doesnt circulate, then the interior sight sheriffs branch will ought to serve it to him by some ability. if he never gets served, the order isn't probable valid. generally telling somebody they comprehend the place they stay and decide for to talk won't even justify and O.P.

What does the order actually say? "Bother?" Or stay from a certain distance or what? You might have to go back to court to have him found in violation of the original order.
