A contractor in Cleveland found $182,000 of Depression Era money inside a bathroom wall in Cleveland as he was remodeling the bathroom for a high school friend. Now the contractor is trying to claim the money as his. Do you think it is ethical for him to try claiming the money as his? According to the story, Ohio has a "finders keepers" law that applies if it appears any owner will reappear to reclaim it. Peter Dunne own the house during the Depression Era and one of the boxes had P Dunne on it. I would think that law applies to Peter Dunne and his family and not to Reece the current owner of the house. To me, I would think the money would become the property of the owner of the house after the original owner (Peter Dunne) had not come back to claim it after a certain number of years. I could see the contractor maybe getting a small percentage (say 10%) for finding it. But to me that's like stealing out of a person's house. What is your view and why?

I want you to answer this with your head, instead of your heart or emotion!! After all, most pedophiles are victims of sexual abuse at a young age themselves. Which is why it doesn't sound right for the same law that failed to defend them, wanting to punish them about something they were FORCED to become. So.. what do you think is a fair and just treatment for pedophiles?

Below is a clip of Bush - a man I do not like or trust - A man who I believe has done immense harm and places the world in danger etc etc

But the clip below - is a fabricated series of manipulated lies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YwYaNkjkEc&NR=1
If you take the time to watch it - I ask this
Is that freedom of speech - ?
If so then what is the difference between that and a cig company saying hello 10 yrs old smoke it is good for you ?
There is no dramatic license here - for instance if I pretending to be Bush on a stage delievered the above perhaps it is freedom of speech as there is no misrepresentation
I am acting - ok this is not acting
So then is it ok to say to a cop or the Crown half a truth to purposely change the meaning ?
What is the difference between me saying to the Crown (DA) he told me he was willing to kill and leaving out the part of
For an ice cream cone - He was willing to kill for an ice cream cone it was 110 degree's that day etc?

...were the only survivors, would you have "relations" with your family to create a new race of people? Family would include immediate along with cousins, aunts and uncles. Or would you rather have humans die off for good?

Dear friends,
My father is working with a rural bank in India,Our family consists of two of us.I am also working girl. Last year my father suffered from Brain Hemorrhage. Considering the family & health situation, he was transfered to the nearest place to our home.
Now, before two months, he's been transfered to a remote place, it's nearly 100 Km from Home.Health facilities are not good there. We can't shift there as it will disturb a lot of things. We requested the management (Top authority) to transfer him to a nearby place from where atleast he could commute daily, but they are not considering our case at all.
Now my father leaves at 6 AM & reaches at 9:30 at night. I am very much worried about his health. To top it, the management has started harrasing him like: they don't sanction his medical bills at first go, that too without any valid reason.
Can we take any legal help? Since it's an official matter , can any help from a third party like Human rights Commission be taken?

I am living with the landlord in north California. The rent include everything like electric, hydro, cable etc. He never open the heat during the winter so I bought myself a heater in my bedroom. My landlord found out and asked me to pay extra eletric fee for the heater. I just came here from Canada 4 months ago so I am not familiar with the renting here. Isnt it everyone in north California open the heat during winter?? And is the landlord responsible for the heat in the house? Where can I find the information or whom can I ask for help about this? Thank you

Little backstory, me and my siblings dont have the same mom so I dont talk to them much, and I dont talk to their side of the family AT ALL.

Also the will was unsigned, and the estate is "unsupervised"....im not sure if thats bad or not aswell.

Ok, well my father passed away march of 2006, while he was in the hospital on his death bed, a lawyer came and i had to sign a paper to make my aunt executor i believe....i was not in a mindstate to think anyone would be screwing me over so i signed.

My father left a buisness, which was sold for 133,000 last summer , and he also left houses which arent sold yet. they were appraised though.

well it will be 2 years in march and i still havent recieved my full share.

In may of 2007 my aunt had me and my 2 siblings go to her house and she gave us each 7,000 dollars of the money...she said she couldnt give it all yet because she has to wait and see if anyone comes forward that my dad owes. she said in a few months if they dont come forward she would distribute the rest and put me and my siblings in charge of selling the houses on our own.

Well I wait and wait and still nothing, its been 6 months since that happened and everytime i talk to my brother he tells me the moneys coming and were waiting to go into probate, that my aunt is just busy and shes taking longer than she should because she works for the mayor and is always busy.

He seems sincere and in need of money as much as I am and seems like hes being serious about it but i dont I dont trust him or anyone on that side of the family, so im kinda scared I may be getting screwed and I dont know what to do.

Just recently he called to tell me that he asked our aunt to give us a little more cash, well supposedly im supposed to be recieveing a 500 dollar check soon...and in the mail tommorow im supposed to recieve an inventory list of the estate.

I have a question though.....How can she distribute money little by little but has to wait for probate to give it all out?

Are they messing with me?

Also ive tried to contact he lawyer that handles the estate a few months back and he told me not to call him, but to call my aunt and talk to her because he costs 100 dollars an hour and that these things take time.....even though my dads estate money is paying for him, im not allowed to talk to him? I dont get it.

Please give me your opinion on the situation. and any ideas of what I should do?

Thank you alot.

I have a room mate that I seriously need to get rid of. He pays the rent on time and that's a plus but he's always in the bathroom, doesn't even leave the house (unless it's to go to the gym), and then he expects me to share the chores with him. Now I understand that I should do my part seeing as I share the household but the way he puts it makes it seem like I should be cleaning up after him. I work close to 12 hours a day so I don't really have time to do an entire run through the house and clean every single edge and corner of it every weekend. But I do make sure to clean u[ after myself. All I ask is that he do the same. But because of his lack of understanding that I work and he doesn't I wanna find the legal way to evict him. I should mention that he picked a fight with my boyfriend and me almost resulting in an all out brawl. So tell me, 2 weeks or 30 days notice to evict?

i was done when Alomar spit in the face of an umpire, was fined and told to sit out several games.........but because his team was in the playoffs the penalties were put off until the following season.

i hope baseball collapses.

it speaks volumes that we are currently dealing with a credit crunch in the housing market due to the fact that loans were made knowing the borrowers couldnt pay their bills. we as a society are eager to ignore obvious pitfalls as long as some short term money can be made......THAT is the American dream

I used to know the website that you could type your address into and it would pull up a map of your location and pin-point all of the sex offenders, show their picture, and list what their offense was. Does anyone know this site? All the ones I can find through Google either require me to pay or sign-up.

I'm designing a website, and I want to use the iPod's user interface as the base/template of the site. But is the interface itself protected under copyright? Can I use it without getting sued?
By the interface, I mean like the white background, the same font, the blue highlight as you highlight a link and etc. Basically a website that's organized like the content on iPod is.
The site will strictly be a personal website, with no intention of commercial purposes.

When you tell people that there are innocent people in jail or on death row and some people who are guilty but was found innocent they don't believe you. Although our justice system is pretty reliable there are still gliches. There have been studies showing that between 5 to 10 percent have been wrongly covicted. Even with forensic science there are still mistakes. There are cases that don't even have DNA to work with. People have been released from death row but sometimes they are only found innocent after they were executed. There are people who did the crime walking in the streets. I know these cases are rare but it can happen.
