But the clip below - is a fabricated series of manipulated lies

If you take the time to watch it - I ask this
Is that freedom of speech - ?
If so then what is the difference between that and a cig company saying hello 10 yrs old smoke it is good for you ?
There is no dramatic license here - for instance if I pretending to be Bush on a stage delievered the above perhaps it is freedom of speech as there is no misrepresentation
I am acting - ok this is not acting
So then is it ok to say to a cop or the Crown half a truth to purposely change the meaning ?
What is the difference between me saying to the Crown (DA) he told me he was willing to kill and leaving out the part of
For an ice cream cone - He was willing to kill for an ice cream cone it was 110 degree's that day etc?

freedom of speech is not the cause for lies.
CAPITALISM = LIES
IE; when one goes to a car dealership to buy a car!
we all know that the salesman can't be trusted and they lie!
but just a minute, he isn't the only one who is expected to lie, the customer will also lie! may be even more than the salesperson! that is why in car business they say "buyers liars"! the whole interaction is based on deceive and lies! this is true with all business transactions more or less! it is the nature of the beast! peace

Definitely there will be nothing like freedom to lie, though; people tell pockets of lie to free them from problems. Encouraging lies shall lead to public disorder and lawlessness.

In other words, freedom to lie has no business to undergo opinion poll to ascertain popularity against freedom of speech, it just doesn’t come in, and considering the huge and important role the latter has in nation building.

Yes. Freedom of Speech includes lies. However, our legal system allows for criminal and civil penalties should such lies cause harm. The burden of proof (in this scenario) would fall on Congress. It's a legal technicality specific to the U.S.A.

You almost lost me in your rambling there but i believe i get where your going.

And I believe I agree with you.

That kind of half truths and stuff you talk about... isnt that, for instance, what Michael Moore makes a living doing?

You do have the freedom to lie, but if you get caught in it, it is called purjury.

Just to answer your question - as long as it's a "white lie" then I guess it would be OK.
