I was in jail for misdemeanor charges.I was co owner of a house with a relative.I bought out the interest in the house 3 years ago.it was never signed over to me.while incarcerated, the relative sent emails to my gfriend claiming that i "cheated" on her and she would have the house condemned, have more charges filed against me and said"i would pay".all of this info was told to me over the phone.they then went to a 'quick buy" homebuyer co.and brought in a deed that i was afraid not to sign becase of the threats.i had no contact with the homebuyers whatsoever, and was told i woud have to be at closing.instead, closing statement and power of attorney were forged in my name before my release.all proof that i bought out the interest was destroyed as they went to the house and found it.I was the sole occupant of the house for 5 years.i paid the taxes ect.the relative took half the money.the bank claims to have no documents when i remember signing them there.some legal expertise please!!!!!

Several months ago I was working at a daycare as a preschool teacher. I was there 6 weeks before I got my first check (which was a dollar short an hour plus 20 hours short, it was atually only a 2 week check). Before that check came they kept giving me the run around saying "checks are on their way"...I stayed 3 more weeks for my students. Anyway I left a month ago, and last week I received my checks..Well they stopped payment on the one, because they didnt have enough to cover it, and now we are in the negative and acrued over $100 in overdraft fees. IM FURIOUS!!!!!That check that I worked fr and was given to me was to take care of our house payment, which is being taken out Monday. Now we are -300 because of them, and I have house payment coming out, so now we will be negative $900, with more overdraft charges. MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I FIGHT THEM TO PAY ME MY MONEY AND ALL MY OVERDRAFT CHARGES? Why am I being punished when I did nothing wrong? Thanks

I rent a house previously rented by someone else who has outstanding debts. I have been receiving letters (reminder, warrant of execution, bailiff removal) that I have sent back advising that the person does not live in the property anymore. I have received the visit of bailiff threatening to remove my household effects to satisfy unpaid amouns at any hour of the day or night... I have called them and they want me to prove who I am? Is it legal? What else can I do?

I mean I don't want anything to happen to us. We both just want my parents to have custody of our child, if anything shall happen to us. Does anyone know how I would go about doing this, without costing me a fortune? I know that money shouldn't be an option, since we want it to happen, but I have been quoted over a 1,000 dollars. And that is a chunk of money for us to come up with. What other options are out there, we live in Indiana. Thanks for reading and for you answers!

An employment agency booked me on to a first aid course and the £110 would be deducted from my first 2 weeks wages. The job did not materialise and I have sent a cheque for £10 to the company with a written promise to pay the rest @ £10 per month (I am unemployed on £54 per week dole) The cheque has been sent back to me with a demand that I pay in full. What can I do now?

An Honda Accord was posted in the autotrader.com website and the person selling it claimed he was at Ft Hood Texas going to Iraq and wanted to sell his car. His name was Mark Klein and his email address was mklein67@yahoo.com. He insisted on using www.AutoExchangesite.us because of the escrow business it had and the escrow biz only allowed western union transfers for the first ten times then after that you can pay via credit card, etc. The site disappeared 4 days after I paid them. Anyway, the escrow agent they listed on their site to send the money to had a paypal and BBB emblem on it. Anyway, after I sent the money. all correspondence stopped. I got swindled out of $3000.00. I sent the money to Miami western union. Who do I see about reporting this to. What federal agency?

in the month of march many people will be joining in the fight against the RIAA and boycotting any music sold under the major record labels (Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal, and Sony BMG). the RIAA is the agency that sues all those kids thousands of dollars for downloading copyrighted material illegally, yet doesnt give any money back to the musicians whose material they are 'protecting'. take a look at this artice to see what you can do. http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-entertainment/gizmodos-antiriaa-manifesto-239512.php

Yes, I realise your concerns about privacy, government control, inconvenience, and what you might call the "road down the slippery slope" to the end of freedom of movement.

May I bring to your attention, however, that national ID cards are a fact of life in almost every country apart from the UK and US.

Countries in which national ID cards are used and compulsory (either by law or in practice) include France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, South Korea, etc.

Indeed, the majority of the world's democracies have national identity cards. Your paranoid fears have NOT materialised in these countries.

People in France can still go about their daily lives as they wish, without constant interference or surveillance by the government.

In Hong Kong, the ID card is a great convenience: it allows for 5-second automatic immigration clearance at the airport and other entry ponts. Besides, proving your identity at banks and such is a lot easier with national ID.

Yahoo takes the position that if a court, any court presents them with a subpoena to discover your true identity and any other information they have about you, they will very willingly hand over that information. You can be sued for what you post through any Yahoo medium. It can be as simple as someone who wants to sue you for cussing them out or insulting them here, and they go to some small court and claim damages and have Yahoo supeonaed for that information. Yahoo will gladly give it out and then this person who filed has your name and address and can come to your house. Yahoo can file a simple motion to quash, which takes very little time and very little money, and it would be over and they would have fulfilled their fiduciary responsibility. But they instead choose not to become involved. They have a legal department which states simply that they do not become involved, but will simply answer the subpoena. No defense. No protection. Do you trust Yahoo?

I wanted to build a new fence between our house and a neighbor. I got a permit to do it. However, before I got a chance to talk to the neighbor, the contractor tear down my neighbor's old fence w/o my knowledge. Once I found out, I tried to talk to my neighbor about it to remedy the problem but they wouldn't talk to me. I wanted to let them know that I can do whatever it takes to make them happy. However, they wouldn't listen and try to call the police accusing me of vandalism, tress passing, and harrassment. What can I do? I got a feeling that they are going to sue me. I really don't want to go that route. Can I just forget about it and let the contractor deal with it since it's their fault in the first place?
