You can't--no one can. We are losing so many of our freedoms that it is sickening. Who knows that every call we make isn't being recorded? I don't think that we could even feel safe making a private phone call on a pay phone any more.

It depends if they are intercepting your conversation directly or from the switch station. If they have you're physically bugged or they've tapped into your line the sound might be just slightly lower, you may hear static, or you may hear a delay between the dial tone that wasn't there before. If they are intercepting it from the switch aka telephone exchange there will be no signs indicating it.

You don't know, but if they want to use it in court, the need a warrant before they start, and you will only find out once your called to appear in court.

2nd if the CIA arives on your door to arest you for suspected terrorist activities.
