Is it true that even if I win in small claims court that doesn't guarantee I'll collect? My tv has been in thew shop for 6 mos. the guy is giving me the run around. Can I go down there with police or do I have to sue to get my tv back? I think he stripped it for parts or sold it. but either way it's gone.

I am currently very frustrated with the policy of a certain internet communication website. I no longer want my name plastered across this site on Google, they have not contacted me about my requests, and I am very close to pursuing legal action to get them to implement a voluntary account deletion option, as opposed to useless internet video games and pointless program skins. How would I best go about taking action with this situation, as opposed to sending e-mails to the website (which they will not answer)?

Woman Tells of Forced Marriage at Polygamist Hearing
By JENNIFER DOBNER and PAUL FOY, AP

ST. GEORGE, Utah (Nov. 21) - A woman who says she was forced to marry her cousin when she was 14 told a judge Tuesday that she sometimes used sex to get favors from her husband, such as money and the freedom to see friends.

Jeffs, 50, is charged with two counts of rape as an accomplice for his suspected role in arranging the marriage between her and her 19-year-old first cousin. The woman was testifying at a hearing for the judge to decide whether there is probable cause to send Jeffs to trial.

In court documents, prosecutors say the bride, identified as Jane Doe No. 4, objected to the marriage and later begged to be released. The Associated Press does not identify victims of sexual assault.

Should crimes against children carry an automatic life sentence upon a conviction of a trial by jury in a court of law?

We own a vacant lot we are selling. Survey was done & found my neighbor's fence was 8 feet over on our property. We gave him copy last November. (The fence has been there less that the statute of 15 yrs, he’s been in house 3yrs) He hired an attorney who sent a two-line fax stating we could REMOVE the fence at our expense. We did and he and hit us with a lawsuit in excess of $10,000 for damages, attorneys fees, quiet title to our land & accusing us of trespassing on his property to remove fence saying fence has been there 15yrs +. (aerial photo of prprty stamped 1992 shows NO FENCE around his prprty).I’ve hired an attney to defend, but says if it goes to litigation, could cost upto $15,000 to defend. Is there action I can take against neighbor to collect att fees? My attny said his attorney screwed up bad. Can I file malicious prosecution or abuse of process? We have filed our “answer” denying all. How can we get this thrown out?

If the defendant is found is found not guilty by a jury of his peers he cannot be tried again in criminal court as this is double jeapordy. However he can still be found liable (guilty) in a civil court. Who else finds this stupid? If you don't like the first verdict, oh well let's get him another way. Why have the first trial except to put him behind bars?

Are they anything that alleges you broke or violated the law in some way and therefore have to pay a fine or penalty? For example, are you "convicted" if you have a minor traffic violation?

I'm confused because I don't know how that term is used.

I have learned that my contract was breached on many different levels and have found specifc Business and Professions Codes that were violated. I am new to this stuff but don't know if I should go into court with all my Codes or should l let the judge wrap up the issues into the law/codes? I don't want to upset him by thinking I know anything about the law because I don't / well maybe alittle.

Also, if a contractors license was needed and they don't have one and they are suing me isn't it true they can't sue if they needed a contractors license? Do I tell the judge that first thing? or do I disagree with the amount of money they say I owe? I am the defendant.

I want to know if I have my job listed under work history on a application. If they call my work, what can my employer say. I know its illegal for them to say anything negitive about you, but I heard their are loopholes around that. I heard they can say things like, "we wouldn't take him back, he tried his harder, he could be more energetic, etc. This is basicly like saying that your not a good employee." I want to know what they can and cannot say. Can they say this stuff I just mention. I am a good employee for the most part, but I have goofed off before, or talk to my bagger while I was checking. My bost is a total ASSHOLE. He only lookes for things you do wrong, he doesn't care about what I do right.
