Immigration - May 2007

Isn't every country in the world a nation of immigrants. Even the native Americans (which are often referred to as the only non-immigrants in America) had to migrate here from somewhere. Whether one is a creationist or an evolutionists, that first creature had to reproduce and migrate to other parts of the world, thus making everybody an immigrant and every nation made up entirely of immigrants. I don't understand why people say the U.S. is a nation of immigrants. Somebody please explain

I want to marry an illegal immigrant. My concern is that he will reside in S. CA. and I will live in N.CA., but he seems to think that using my addressfor all his personal/professional correspondence, will be enough.
Will this affect the legitimacy of our relationship?
Are there legal concerns I should be aware of, as a US citizen, for marrying/falsifying marriage status?

I've noticed this more and more lately.Someone who is or is pretending to be Mexican asks a question which they know will make people defensive. Is that how you get your jollies or are you racist and want to start a race war? What is the reasoning behind provoking people?Do you think it helps your cause?Or are you trying to hurt the other sides cause?Either way it's sick and you need mental help. Why do you do these things?

I am so sick and tired of the justification illegals give for being ILLEGAL:
1. the US immigration system is unfair
That maybe, but it is not for you to decide. Your can either follow the immigration law of this country, or immigrate to another one. Violate the law is criminal offense.

2. we come from a harsh family background
So are billions of others. Everyone is born with his/her fair share of the burden. IT doesn't justify you from breaking laws.

3. we are doing works no one else is willing to do
Yeah, except you are not allowed to work. You shouldn't be working. And that work that no one else willing to do? Have you met the legal immigrants who are working hard to find a job?

4. you can't deport all 13 million of us, so ...
Well, we can start by deporting you

Look...no matter what America does...illegal Mexicans are going to keep coming to the U.S. So...all the haters should just stop hating on the Latinos and just accept the fact that we're taking over.

They pay income tax , social security tax (removed from their paycheck every week), FICA tax and sales tax. When the buy a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread they are paying taxes.

And when they go to the hospital they surely get billed and have to pay. they CANNOT apply for Medicare or medicaid, and no illegal has a right to claim wellfare.

If the immigrants were not needed they would not be here. Pure economics, Supply and Demand.!!

So what seems to be the big problem, if the govt knew they were such a "threat" they would "kick them out". The US certainly has the money and resources.

Americans don't understand that It's soo expensive to get papers & it takes years to become a citizen. They are hardworkers & do the jobs that americans don't like to do like cunstruction & they call the cops to take them back.It doesn't effect them in a negative way.So how will illegal immigrants effect you in a bad way?why do you have a problem with them?

Why should we have to allow the politicians decide what WE as a people should be deciding on ourselves. Just thinking what other important issues could possibly be screwed up by them (elected officials) is totally disheartening. I am a Veteran, a citizen, and a very hard working American, but enough is enough. I want a citizens vote on Immigration reform, not a politicians vote.

"What is the "no work list"?

Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 (S.1348) require every employer in the United States to verify the employment eligibility of their workforce of both US citizens and immigrants through a new Electronic Employment Verification System (EEVS) operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

This is colloquially referred to as the "no work list", as you would not be allowed to work if the EEVS deems you ineligible to work in the US."

I've just recently found out about the EEVS. All government powers are being centralized to the DHS. We are going to be a full blown Fascist country by 2009-2010. How many Americans do not know about the EEVS?

Think realistically instead of emotionally or hysterically. Would the world really end as we know it? Human beings have been moving around the earth since it began and ... what? Do you think that everyone would want to descend on YOUR country? Would it necessarily cause mayhem?

Sorry....but if you do not come here legally, then screw you. Why? Because the majority of the illegals do not follow our laws that are designed to protect AMERICAN CITIZENS! If you want to ask if I have a grudge against illegals, than my answer would be HELL YES I DO! Imagine if you lost someone very close to you because a drunk illegal hit her while recklessly driving. Sorry no insurance and since he had nothing, her family had no legal recourse and I lost the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with. Granted that this could have happened anyway, when you live in an area that is highly populated with illegals, it makes it more probable. Many people do not see this side of the problem that exist when you have this many illegals in the country. I will take a while as it did in France, but this country will eventually wake up and realize that mass illegal immigration is not healthy for this country. Politicians beware of a backlash as a result of pimping for votes

I remember 3 or 4 years ago it wasn't an issue. Not on the level it is today. What one issue caused it to be such a huge problem? It seems that people are so upset about hard working Mexican families whose own country sucks so bad they have to illegally leave their country and come to America the land of dreams and work horrible stinky jobs to support their families. And they have been doing this for decades but I don't remember what caused the sentiment there is today.
