Go to the regional passport office with original & attested copies of the following: - 1) Marriage certificate issued by the marriage officer/registrar, 2) Passport of the husband. You just have to give the attested copies of these documents to get the marital status changed, addition of husbands name in the passport & change of address to that of husband's address, a nominal fee has to be deposited along with the application for such changes & within few hours get the amended passport collected then & there itself. My daughter got such changes made in her passport & got the amended passport within few hours.

If you are in India, go to the Passport Office where your passport issued with the Original Marriage Certificate and your Adress proof like Telephone Bill etc., If you are outside India, go to the Indian Embassy with the same documents mentioned above. They will update in their system and write on your Passport.

A change of name requires issuance of a new passport. Complete the form for Application for an Indian passport and submit it together with your marriage certificate, fee, photocopy of husband's passport (if wife's name is already endorsed, otherwise the husband should also follow the same procedure simultaneously) If husband is a foreigner, only his photocopied passport and marriage certificate is needed.
Change the addres while you are at it.**
