Attracting a newspaper to write about you is like trying to attract a guy you have the 'hots' for to talk to you--it may or may not work.

You may be wasting your time thinking of ways to be an inspiration that you are preventing yourself from really helping in a more productive manner.

In seeking to be the point of attention(aspirations to be in a news article) you are detracting a purpose of an organization. Organizations are humble and normally don't care who is recognized, as long as their purpose is carried forward.

Just do good work, be helpful, and you can say you've lived an honest and helpful life. Be helpful to the organization there and to the organization leaders. Once you've been helpful, ask those leaders to be a reference.

If you insist you must be written about, seek a free lance public relations writer and ask if they can interview you to be presented to newspapers. It's not a guarantee but they would have an upper hand in leading you to your objective--which oddly seems less philantropic. (a free lance writer will charge you a fee with no guarantee of being published.)

Submit a synopsis of your work and leave it to their better judgement as to whether you should be given a chance to be interviewed!
