Think realistically instead of emotionally or hysterically. Would the world really end as we know it? Human beings have been moving around the earth since it began and ... what? Do you think that everyone would want to descend on YOUR country? Would it necessarily cause mayhem?

Please think realistically. I meant people being allowed to go and live where they choose but still under the new country's rules so those open doors and accounts holds no water. But I never said I agree with no barriers I just wanted to know what your thoughts were and what you think would happen if there weren't any barriers. Also yes I do mean every country in the world having no barrires. It's kinda funny that the majority thinks that the world would descend on their country though.

I've sometimes wondered about this. What is the point of having borders? Except for physical borders, mountain ranges etc. they only exist because man invented them. If they were removed it wouldn't make scrap of difference to anyone in the long run.

Open borders is a GREAT idea - if you don't want sovereignity or a unique identity/culture.

It's pretty visible even now (though on a small scale) what would happen if the world became "open borders" - the poor would always leech off the rich, and the rich would always manipulate the poor - screwing over the wages system and economy in general as we know it. Not to mention the diverse cultures we all love and enjoy would all become saturated and diluted to the point where all we'd have left is some base, materalistic world where life is all about just existing.

Countries without barriers would cause a problem for a period of time but i believe eventually. The so called prosperous countries would not be able to exploit people from poor countries so we all be batting on the same wicket as per to say. REMEMBER we are only national of any country by birth or by migration. So we have actually done nothing to be so special just because we are living or working in certain country

Reality is, if you want your homeland compromised, allow illegal immigrants. Its happened in every country in history and soon results in a takeover by the immigrants. So, can I have your home? I want your country, you can have say, Siberia.Or, should we fight to the death about it? Raises serious questions huh? You cant say its good for anyone after examining the historical results. PERIOD

Actually, after about another 10 million or so illegal immigrants the tax burden would be so high the people making the real $$ (and therefore paying the most taxes) in the US would leave. Shortly after that the government would go bankrupt, social services would cease, total anarchy would ensue, and then maybe the illegals would go somewhere else to leech off another country....
I like the unlocked door and open bank account analogies... very appropriate.

There are reasons we have laws, the laws protect our citizens. We can't have MILLIONS of people coming in every year putting a huge strain on our economy. There are proper channels to get here, and it seems that most nations other than most of Latin America goes through those channels. As for them decending on our country? They are. I will never for the life of me understand why illegals come here and leave their families behind, just so they can plant and pick crops for $8 an hour, live in a one bedroom apartment with 9 other crop pickers, and send their money back to Mexico. Good Lord, if they did it the right way they could come in and actually own the farm they are planting.

And to mark_gg_daniels, I am not a racist. I know where my family came from, and sure enough I am not a decendant of any native americans. But guess what? My family came here LEGALLY. I have NO problem with immigration, it is illegal immigration that I have a problem with. When people come illegally they are breaking the law, instead of putting them in prison we should put them in the military so THEY can die for the country that they are invading.

think of it. a world free for us all. americans would be able to move freely and take whatever good resources they found anywhere in the world. just walk down south and take all the oil in mexico and venezuela, all the cocaine in colombia, all the prime beef in argentina and the british would not need to send troops 15,000 miles away to defend a frigid barren chunk of land called falkland islands; the chinese would work our farms for a pitance, al-qaeda would have no afghanistan to use as a launch pad for attacking america because there would be no america to hate!!!.

Think realistically, did the DSS exist since the dawn of time? No, with no International Borders this place would be the No 1 haven for free-loaders, a free meal ticket for life. The system would totally collapse.

We in the UK have spent 1000 years building the UK, we have recently all paid social security and taxes some of us for decades into improving the UK and making an organised country.

Before you allow millions of people to come from unsuccessful countries you must ask the indigenous UK people first, after all they built the UK.

IF we had a referendum mass immigration would be rejected by most UK people, this is why we will never get a referendum the multiculturists know they would lose.

You're right that's how the world should be. Everyone moving to wherever they wish to live.

However, imagine 300,000 Christians moving into Iran and setting up home. Its not only the USA here that have restrictions.

The trouble is with religion, once again. It has divided continents and blocked a free roaming life upon this world. Governments have become God in telling you where you can live when our creator gave us the land to move freely.
