Two hundred years ago we fought a bloody civil war so that African americans wouldnt have to pick our cotton and do the jobs we didnt want to do. Why then is our goverment saying it is ok for us to use illegal immagrants to do the same thing today? This is slavery all over again using a different minority! Isnt anyone out there getting the connection but me! Slavery is slavery no matter how you try to sugercoat it! It needs to be stopped! What are your thoughts?

I am a state registered nurse and got married to a Colombian immigrant two years ago because I fell in love with him and believed that he loved me. He has since been granted a conditional resident visa and is now waiting for other papers which I must sign before he can become a permanent resident. However, he has left me and only comes by once a month to pick up his mail or for me to sign some paper for him. It has become painfully obvious that he was just using me to get his permanent status in the U.S. I believe the only reason he stops by (other than to pick up his mail or have me sign something for him) is to make sure that I will sign the final papers for him to be granted permanent status. Can anyone tell me how I can resign as his sponsor?

just because they wish for a better society than the one Mugabe is providing. The conditions there are getting worst, when basics like soap/toilet roll are now so expensive...and jobs so scarce.....and if you speak out your beaten up or worst shot....what can we do as a an affluent society....we can no longer close our eyes as to what is happening in this once beautiful country.... Can you blame anyone from this country coming here legal or illegal...PS I am white scottish for all the racists......and fully support all Zimbabweans...

I say "NO WAY". If you are born on US soil, you are a citizen. If they change that doctrine, than anyone will be subject to tests in order to become a citizen.

I posted a link: last time I did this I got a violation. If you read this article and then the responses afterward, it is easy to see that the Left is inflaming the nationalistic sentiments of the vast majority of the population in a bid to polarize this issue like they have done with abortion.

Make no mistake; I am pro-immigration, illegal or otherwise. These are people here. They are being trafficked, enslaved, and murdered. I want these people to be free, not to become Pawns of the Democrats like the Democrats are trying to do now. We Christians, Muslims, Humanists, etc… that truly care about these people cannot allow the Democrats to take this issue and create a welfare state like they did with African Americans for so many years.

It made me so sad when he told me that. I asked why and he said because you are not Irish. I said some one once told me you do not need to be Irish to be Irish. I said I want something green. He said no because you are not Irish. I said I am not going to give you anything then. He said I do not care because I am not Irish either. I am so confused. What should I do?

I am about to get married to my g/f who is a US citizen.I am curently on a F-1 student visa and my passport expires at the end of the year.Since we plan to get married in July that means that I wont go to the interview and (hopefully) get the green card before my passport expires.Does anybody know if there is a condition of holding a valid foreign passport in order to obtain the green card.My firend thinks that I need a valid passport for duration of at least 2 years with the green card in order to be eligible to apply.
PS The only way for me to get new passport is to go back to my county and serve Army sice in my county there is a draft, which is totaly against my priciples.
Thanks for taking time to read and help.

Can my husband travel if his green card expired? It expired in December. We sent in to renew it last September. I thought it was supposed to take 6-9 months to get the new green card....does anyone know how long it takes? We bought are tickets already for the end of July and i just need to make sure we can travel. INS has given me different answers about what we need. They also said my husband can get a stamp in his passport if we travel to the nearest site. Does anyone have any idea about any of this? I want to make sure everything is ready because they already give us a hard time with a green card.
Thanks!

Is it possible that my Visa is already cancelled and will detect to immigration once I go back here again using my Re-entry Visa, which is until January 8, 2008?

Highly appreciate your answer.

I was discussing with my Spanish professor that I wanted to attend graduate school in Spain but was unsure how to fund it. She is from Spain and she said that if I applied for duel citizenship, after a few years Spain would pay for my education like a native born citizen. Is this true? Would I have to renounce my U.S. citizenship? Would I need to work in the country for a few years first? How many years would it take?
