I obtained a fiance visa for a Thai woman in Jan 2007. We agreed she'd come on April 10. She had picked up the visa. Then I found out she flew to the US in early March on her own, disappeared to another state without seeing me at all, and now sends me emails telling me that she was afraid I wouldn't marry her (she says I cheat on her). (Earlier in the process she had asked for $25K dowry but I refused )
I am in Washington DC. She's somewhere in Arizona "sightseeing." What is going on? Parents in Bangkok said they thought she was with me. Cousin now living in LA knows nothing about where she is. Everyone's a liar. Now no one will answer my calls. I thought immigration requires that the sponsor pick up the fiance at the airport! I sent a letter to the USCIS in Vermont withdrawing the visa. I contacted ice.gov to alert them to a scam. Can they do anything to her now? Can she be deported? What about my liability if she has an accident or does something illegal? Please help!

Hi! i would like to invite my boyfriend through an invitation letter to come visit me to the US, he currently lives in Colombia and want him to come over for my birthday. I am a US resident not a Citizen... The question is: if the US embassy gives him the Visa and he comes over and we get married, does he has to wait for the paperwork back in Colombia? or he can wait for the paperwork here in the US with me? and also would like to know how does the situation will affect me due to the invitation letter i wrote before inviting him?? THANKS!!!

They have contibuted to taxes and the nations wealth
in their old age why does our country not look after them a little instead of whinging they are now living too long and make them sell their homes.
If they had not contributed a penny and abused the system all their lives they get everything free I am asking is this right in anyones eyes ?

My husband and I got married a month ago, he is a Kenyan Citizen here on an F-1 Student Visa, I am a US citizen. He has a social security card and drivers liscense. We had a consultation with a lawyer about applying for residency and of course he reccommended we use his services but he wants $1,500 and thats a lot of money for us. He told us many horror stories about people applying on their own. My question is should we use a lawyer? Also, if you send a form in and they send it back because of a mistake, do you have to pay the fee again when you send the corrected form back? Is it really that complicated to do this on our own? Thanks for any help or information you can give me.

Invite them into your home and feed, cloth them, pay for their medical needs? All the while they disrespect you and your family? We already help these unfortunates by sending money to their Country. and buying their products. Why is this even our problem? Shouldn’t their own Government be helping them out? Shouldn’t they be helping theirselves and their own Countrymen out in their own Country? God also demands respect and love for each other. Do unto others. Where is the love they have shown us? Breaking our immigration laws, driving without a license, insurance, or driving drunk killing American citizens? God also demands that you turn the other cheek. But does not say what to do when you run out of cheeks. God also says in Proverbs 25:17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. Every American is not an immigrant. "

Do they automatically become British citizens, or do I have to register them? Again, I'm a first-generation Brit born in Surrey, England. I'm an American permanent resident. Thanks!

If I like another house better then mine and I break in and start cleaning floors, bathrooms, the furnace, you know all those nasty jobs. It is ok right? I mean I am just trying to better myself and I am doing what no one else wants to do so I have every right to live there and demand they adapt to fit my language and culture right?

The US brought in the Mexicans during times of depression. When we got better we threw them out. And brought them back and threw them out. Ok my question is can you complain that we have so many illegals when we broght them here in the frist place. If you bring a box of roaches in your house how can you get mad when your house becomes infested?

Trust me I do understand the points of view and I believe immigration should be reformed but....Why do only the illegals have rights? Why do the citizen's not have any rights to protect their borders and their families? Why do only the wishes of the illegal count?

I hear ppl complaining about tax money that pays for illegals here and thier depts and keep in mind not all illegals recieve benefits here. But what about all the business they created here, building your houses and businesses?
I don't ever hear of ppl who refuse to do business with illegals, who refuse to buy the houses they built for us? or shop at our stores? or those who help other ppl hear such as helping an elderly person?
Why don't ppl appriecate the good in these ppl?

I always here about ppl complaining of mexicans having children here, but I haven't heard ppl say much about the thousand of latino's here with american wives and familys, then the children have every right as an american, as they should anyways.

If your family was suffering greatly in poverity and was hungry and sick, needing health care and there was NO help 4 them what would you do to protect them?
Now put yourself in another place, say Mexico and you knew that if you could make it across the border (risking your life) you then would have a chance to provide your for your family, could you honestly say you wouldn't break the law? Be Honest!

In my opinion if you are here illegally ,and are not a citizen , then you have no rights. You should not be able to recieve any benefits at the tax payers expense. Should not be able to drive or rent property .And Amnesty is wrong.

""This campaign is unprecedented in the pro-immigration community," said Cecilia Muñoz, senior vice president of the National Council of La Raza, in a statement. "Never before have we brought together under one banner such a formidable political coalition to fight for passage of comprehensive immigration reform. We now have the money, the people and the political will to punch this vital issue over the goal line in Congress and make America a better place to live and work."

The campaign says they have $4 million dollars on hand to spend on the congressional fight. The group will lead local and national groups seeking comprehensive immigration reform that has a chance of passing the House and Senate. Washington-based lobbyists will execute the strategy and field operation in 30 key states."

Are you writing to your Congressmen?

"SAN DIEGO -- The driver of a car that dragged a Border Patrol agent into oncoming traffic in North County was sentenced Friday in San Diego to 15 months in federal prison, authorities said.

U.S. District Judge Dana M. Sabraw also ordered defendant Francisco Javier Rodriguez-Salazar, 21, to serve two years of supervised release when he is released from custody.

Rodriguez-Salazar, a Mexican citizen who is in this country illegally, pleaded guilty Dec. 15 to a grand jury indictment alleging assault on a federal officer, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Ott."

Since we don't have 'supervised release' of people in a different country, does this verdict assume that he is going to be allowed to stay HERE after jail???

Calderon says the US needs to do more to help Mexico's economy to stem the tide of immigration. My question is, will Mexico ever pay us back for the crimes immigrants commit, the taxes they didn't pay (if you look at the 10 most wanted lists in most big cities, the majority are Latin Americans THAT IS A FACT) My guess is no, they won't
