If your family was suffering greatly in poverity and was hungry and sick, needing health care and there was NO help 4 them what would you do to protect them?
Now put yourself in another place, say Mexico and you knew that if you could make it across the border (risking your life) you then would have a chance to provide your for your family, could you honestly say you wouldn't break the law? Be Honest!

Other than the fact of coming here illegally, I am not saying that we pay anything at all for them, many of them who come here ask for nothing other than to find work. I am not refering to those who are racking up more money out of our pockets.
I am talking about those who have NO other choice in their home country to find help, no government help in their home country, no work in their home country. I think ppl who would let their own familys down when they need the absolutes in life, food, shelter, clothes and medical care, I am not talking about stealing money for bull sh*t like games.
I think ppl who look the other way in that situation are pathetic.

I don't know where some of you are getting your info., but my sister in law just came back from mexico and she lived there for 6 months, there is NO help there for the most part to help those in need and she herself got sick there and liked to died, there was no "real" hospital to go to, ppl had no medical equiptment. It was sad and the way my family had to live there was bad, no indoor plumbling or clean water, no work and no medical care that is good.
I just wanted to see how many ppl was as ignorant as I thought.

Incredible, 90% of the people above are not even bothering to answer the question!
You're $##@$% right I would sneak across the border!!!!!!
Now I do not deny there's more too it than this and people are not wrong to be frustrated and angry that they are paying more and more taxes because MEXICO will not bother to solve it's own problems and thinks the answer is to send everyone here, and worse yet acts so hypocritical. Try walking across the border from GUATEMALA and see what happens.
And certainly if you want to abuse welfare, steal an identitity, deal drugs, or drive drunk and kill someone no sympathy and a one-way ticket back with an invitation to NEVER return. That's a no-brainer.
What I DON'T get is why there is so much hatred and fear toward people who are giving this country more than they take from it. And if the immigration process and/or law is not letting these people come here legally, then the LAW and PROCESS is what is the problem. Not the immigrants.

Honestly I would run and dance across border.
Does this make that right and good...NO
If my kids/mom/wife were starving I would steal and kill..should I start killing people now? Should we just throw out all law, order, reason, goodness? No more consequences for anything? How can you allow people to run across a nation's border but at same time say people cannot break into each other's houses?
Let me put it another way...Does the end justify the means?
Did you never stop to think WHY we have border controls? Ever hear of plague? Disease? Ever consider what is brought in if it will destroy our ecology?
Here is a true story from MY family. My great-grandfather had to come over ALONE since USA would not accept Irish Immigrants without any support. SO the family was broken up and he came all alone and found a place to live and got a job..had to work for a while and get a place the family could fit into and then pay for the passage and then after *2 YEARS* my family was allowed to come over to America to life with my great-grandfather. THAT is how you better your life..you follow the rules and work hard...you DON'T break whatever law you deem not worth following and then come and demand you get an equal share to someone who followed the rules.

STOP with the SOB STORY, because NO ONE is buying it!!!
Do you think mexicans are the ONLY ones who have it hard??? Well, they AREN'T!!!!
Do you think mexicans are the only ones who get SICK??? Well, you're WRONG!!!!
My family was POOR!!! MY mom worked 12 hours a day to provide for FIVE children!!! She had NO help!! But, she never ONCE used WELFARE!!! OR, broke a LAW, to do it!!! She PAID her medical bills, a payment a month, but she did NOT run up thousands in debt, and expect the taxpayers to bail her out!!!
There is NO excuse for ILLEGALS coming here and breaking our laws!!! If you don't like the country you live in, then WORK to CHANGE IT!!! Do NOT sneak across ILLEGALLY into another country!!!
These ILLEGALS that are in this country, are taking benefits that are meant for LEGAL citizens, so for every illegal that is here, there is an AMERICAN citizen who is doing WITHOUT!!

Aren't you making the case that these illegals are some how not as smart or capable as the early American settlers?
The early American settlers suffered Indian raids, starvation, disease, loss of crops, plague, sabotage, lack of supplies, dangerous weather, and they had to figure out everything by trial and error. Plus -- the early settlers were oppressed and under times under "threat of death" by the Empire of England ... the Empire of Spain and the Government of France. These settlers were being pushed around by the world's 3 super powers at that time plus having to deal with the many different Indian tribes there.
And yet ... look at what the early settlers built the United States into! Look at what we accomplished during WW II -- we defeated imperialist Tojo Japan and Nazi Germany's sophisticated war machine.
So this begs the question. If the early settlers who had everything against them can fight back against oppression and create a better life then why can't these illegal aliens do the same in their own country?

How then are people comming up with a couple thousand dollars to be smuggled here? Why not go south of the border where people speak your language if so many have no intention of learning English?. If by comming here for a better life, why are so many so totally ungrateful and rude about it?
If I was breaking the law to feed my family I sure wouldn't bite the hand that's feeding me. I'd be bending over backwards in gratitude.....not screaming in their faces and demanding more. I would hope I would be humble enough to beg for mercy......not blatently break more laws and demand more. I'd learn their language and do everything in my power to prove I was worth the risk instead of causing a national up-roar.

Wouldn't it be easier to go to somewhere in Mexico and find a job ?
Be honest
After all they speak Spanish in Mexico and they could legally work in Mexico.
I have found a map that shows all kinds of places in Mexico where someone might find a job.
Is it okay if Americans break the law to support their families?
Think burglary,drug dealing,shoplifting. identity theft
Are you saying it is okay to break the law and put others at risk as long as your needs are met?
Be honest
Seems like a really self serving outlook to have- I can see why people that think like that don't need to be in this country.
EDIT: Amen Zoe- what the heck are people who can't feed their families doing spreading their legs in the 1st place? Seems like a case of you made your bed, moron.
Abstinence is free

Imagine if your family was unable to make ends meet because your taxes had to be raised to support a growing welfare population. Imagine you couldnt afford health insurance because the hospitals had to make up for not getting paid for services rendered to illegal immigrants by passing those costs on to you. If you put the burden of every 3rd world country on the citizens of the US, there will come a day when we collapse under the dead weight.
I understand why Mexicans, or other foreigners want to come here, but you have to understand why we can't just let everyone who wants to come here, come here.

Why should we pay for them?
Most are not in the circumstance you describe, but even if I broke the law for my family, I wouldn't then argue that the person I was stealing from should let me continue to steal once I was caught, because I was only looking for a better life. Crime has consequences.
It costs $10,000 per year PER CHILD to educate a child in California, not counting benefits for the child or as aid to family with dependant children that they may take, and not counting the birthing services WE have to pay for. Our schools are overcrowded and running on year round schedules in Los Angeles, and 40% of our teachers are teaching on 'emergency certificates'. PE, art, languages and gifted programs have been cut to fund more ESL programs for illegal immigrants.
Their better life is at our children's expense.
And when they take our children's opportunities through education WE pay for, expect us to get very, very pissed.

Should American citizens who are living in poverty and have no health care break the law? Well, they are and we call them criminals and put them in jail. There are no more jobs in the ghetto than there are in Mexico so what's the difference. We have to draw a line against crime somewhere in the sand and it might as well be at the border. Good Luck and God Bless

read what you have just posted. sometimes when we read things twice, we see the ignorance in our statements. you basically have condoned criminal activity for the purpose of self improvement. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work like this. We live in a world of poverty and unfortunate living. The US cannot compensate for everyone misfortune. We have these laws for a reason. Stating that it's not their fault for crossing the border to get help is nothing less than condoning a man to rob a bank to feed his children.
